amla shikakai reetha powder how to use - #39397

Christian

I am really struggling with my hair lately. For the past few months, it’s been falling out more than usual and I’ve also noticed some dandruff, ugh! A friend suggested I try amla shikakai reetha powder because she swears by it for healthy hair. I just got the powders but honestly, I am a little lost on how to use amla shikakai reetha powder properly. I mean, it sounds great and all, but do I need to mix them together or use them separately? Like do I make a paste with water, or is there a shampoo method? And how often should I be using amla shikakai reetha powder to actually see some results? I read somewhere that consistency is key, but my schedule is super hectic right now, and I don’t wanna end up with a mess! Also, is it good for my scalp if I have dandruff? Do you think amla shikakai reetha powder could help with that as well? I really wanna get back to having healthy hair without spending a fortune at the salon. Any tips or personal experiences with amla shikakai reetha powder would be greatly appreciated!

Amla, Shikakai, and Reetha powders are indeed quite beneficial for promoting healthy hair and scalp. Let’s break it down so you can make the most of them while keeping it simple and manageable. You can combine these three powders to create a powerful mix that acts as a natural shampoo and conditioner.

To prepare a paste: Take equal parts of amla, shikakai, and reetha powder, let’s say about 2 tablespoons each for shoulder-length hair. Mix them in a bowl with enough warm water to form a smooth paste. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the powders to fully absorb the water and release their beneficial properties.

For application, dampen your hair and gently massage the paste onto your scalp and throughout your hair. It’s important to be gentle to avoid hair breakage. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, though if your scalp is very sensitive, start with 5 minutes and see how it feels. Rinse thoroughly with water, making sure no residue is left in the hair.

If your schedule is hectic, aim to use this hair mask about once a week. Consistency is important, and with time, you should notice reduced hair fall and improvement in scalp health, including dandruff. This mixture is great for cleansing the scalp, reducing dandruff, and providing nourishment due to Amla’s properties rich in Vitamin C, Shikakai as a natural cleanser, and Reetha that produces a mild lather.

Be cautious with shikakai and reetha if you have very dry hair, as they can be drying over time due to their natural cleansing properties. In that case, you might want to add a few drops of coconut oil or similar to the paste.

Ensure you keep away from eyes, as it may cause irritation. This naturall solution may take some time for your hair to adjust, so be patient as changes won’t happen overnight. Remember, for significant dandruff or hair fall issues, it may also be wise to consult a dermatologist for more tailored advice.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
