does shilajit help in hair growth - #39480

Mia

I am really concerned about my hair right now. Lately, I've noticed more and more strands falling out, especially when I brush. It's been super frustrating, especially since I've tried a bunch of shampoos and some vitamins too, but nothing seems to work. A friend mentioned shilajit, saying that it can help in hair growth, but I haven’t really found much info on this. I have a pretty busy life, you know? Kids, work, and the usual chaos so I don’t have time to spend hours on fancy treatments. Anyway, I read somewhere that does shilajit help in hair growth, and I’m kinda curious. Have any of you tried it? I guess what I'm wondering is how does it work? Should I just take it as a supplement, or are there other ways to use shilajit to boost hair growth? Oh, and I've heard there's a bunch of different qualities of shilajit out there, like you gotta be careful about what you buy. I don’t want to waste money on some fake stuff that won't help at all! Should I look for something specific when I’m shopping for it? Anyway, thanks for any insight you guys can share. Just feeling a bit lost over here! 🥴

Shilajit, a highly prized resinous substance in Ayurveda, is renowned for its rejuvenating and revitalizing properties. It contains fulvic acid, humic acid, minerals, and various phytochemicals that contribute to its health benefits. While scientific research on shilajit’s direct impact on hair growth isn’t extensive, it is believed to bolster overall vitality, which can indirectly support hair health.

The key ayurvedic principle here is nurturing your body and mind holistically. Shilajit is traditionally believed to enhance the strength of hair by promoting balanced doshas, particularly due to its rasayana (rejuvenative) qualities. Regular use may help improve the health of the scalp and hair follicles by boosting nutrient absorption and circulation.

If you are considering using shilajit, it’s typically taken as an oral supplement. You’d want to mix a pea-sized amount with warm water or warm milk and consume on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning. This helps optimize digestion and assimilation into the body, essential for maximum benefit.

When purchasing shilajit, ensure that it’s sourced authentically and is free from contaminants. It’s often recommended to choose a product that’s lab-tested and certified for purity, generally found in reputable health stores or through certified ayurvedic practitioners.

Beyond the shilajit, supporting your lifestyle is crucial. Focus on a diet rich in vitamins and minerals—fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains. Pitta and Vata dosha imbalances might play a role in hair issues, so calming practices such as daily oil massage (bhringraj or coconut oil) could be beneficial. Avoid excessively hot or stressful environments, and ensure you are getting sufficient rest.

Stay attentive to the signs your body is giving you. If hair loss continues or you notice other troubling symptoms, seeking professional advice, potentially combining conventional and ayurvedic approaches, may be wise.
