Have been having hair fall since many years. Also taking thyronorm 62.5 mg every day. Also have osteoarthritis. Kindly advise. Age 63 years

Avoid sour, fermented, and processed foods. Regular exercise. Increase intake of raw vegetables and fruits. Tab. Bhringraj 2-0-2 Tab. R-Compound 3-0-3 Massage on scalp with bhringraj oil twice a week. Tab. Shatavari 2-0-2 Follow up after 4weeks.

Persistent hair fall can often stem from various factors like hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies or stress. In your case, considering you are on Thyronorm for thyroid management, it’s a good start to ensure your thyroid levels are stabilized, since thyroid issues can contribute to hair loss. Schedule regular check-ups to monitor your thyroid function.

Regarding Ayurveda, focus on pacifying Vata dosha, as it is often associated with hair fall and osteoartharitis conditions especially at your age. Include more warm, unctuous (oily), and nutritious meals. Foods like ghee, almonds, sesame seeds and green leafy veggies can be beneficial. Turmeric and ginger are also excellent due to their anti-inflammatory properties, try incorporating them daily.

For hair health, a scalp massage with oils like bhringraj oil, or coconut oil infused with hibiscus flowers, can help strengthen hair roots and promote growth. Do this at least twice a week. Consider using a mild, natural shampoo, avoiding those with harsh chemicals.

For osteoarthritis, regular and gentle exercise, specifically joint-friendly activities like yoga or swimming, can maintain mobility and reduce stiffness.
