Hi I have keloids near jawline How to cure the problem as it looks weird on my face.please suggest me how to start the procedure yo treat this scar.since 2021 i have been carrying this.Till now there is no change in scar and iching is occuring incessantly.

Keloids, as challenging as they can be, may be managed through a combination of Ayurveda and modern medicine. Observing the chronic nature of the keloids and the itching experienced, the Vata and Pitta doshas might need balancing. In Ayurveda, keloids can be related to derangements in the body’s natural tissue healing processes, so addressing these through diet and lifestyle may help.

Begin with diet. Consume cooling foods that pacify Pitta, such as cucumber, cilantro, or coconut water. Avoid spicy, sour, and fermented foods, as they might aggravate Pitta. Stay hydrated; consume ample fresh, lukewarm water to maintain skin moisture - an essential aspect when dealing with keloids.

Herbs like Manjistha (Rubia cordifolia) and Neem (Azadirachta indica) might be beneficial. You could prepare a herbal paste with these to gently apply on the keloid daily. Mix two teaspoons of Manjistha powder with sufficient water to create a paste, apply and leave for 30 mins before rinsing. However, check for sensitivity and consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personal recommendations.

Consider regular gentle oil massage with Tila Taila (Sesame Oil) to aid in maintaining skin’s softness and flexibility. Applying a few drops daily might help, but test it on a small area first and discontinue if it enhances the itching.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this condition is often a result of aggravated doshas, particularly vata and pitta leading to disturbances in skin metabolism and tissue regeneration. The first step involves focusing on balancing these doshas through diet and lifestyle modifications.

Begin by adopting a pitta-pacifying diet, which is helpful in reducing inflammation. Avoid hot, spicy, and salty foods, and include more cooling, hydrating foods such as cucumber, cucumber juice, and pomegranate. Also, enhance your intake of omega-rich foods like flaxseeds which may help skin repair.

For topical application, prepare a paste using sandalwood powder and rose water and apply to the keloids daily. Both have a cooling effect on the skin and help in reducing inflammation and preventing itchiness.

Another effective measure is to prepare an herbal oil using neem leaves and turmeric. Simmer neem leaves in sesame oil with a pinch of turmeric until the leaves are crisp. Strain it, and apply this infused oil to the keloid area daily. This preparation has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which may aid in tissue healing.

Focus on boosting your digestion as poor digestive function can contribute to skin problems. Drink warm water with a slice of ginger in the morning to stimulate digestion. Trikatu churna, in small doses after meals, can also assist in balancing agni.

Engage in calming practices like yoga and meditation, helping to reduce stress which can exacerbate vata and pitta imbalances. If itching persists or the keloid grows, consult a healthcare professional to explore other interventions like laser therapy that might be necessary.
