Hair thinning at 60 can be naturally managed with some safe and effective Ayurvedic approaches. First, consider incorporating Ayurveda’s nourishing oils. Bhringraj oil, known for its rejuvenating properties, can be massaged onto the scalp to promote hair growth and strength. It’s best applied in gentle, circular motions to enhance blood circulation. Ideally, leave it on overnight and wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo the next day… Bhringraj helps repair follicle damage and strengthen hair roots.

Amla, another potent ingredient in Ayurveda, can be used either in powder or oil form. For the powder, mix it with lukewarm water to create a paste, apply it on the scalp and leave for about 20-30 minutes before rinsing. This provides a dual benefit of nourishment and cooling effect on the scalp. If using amla oil, ensure that it is incorporated into your regular oil massage routine.

Diet plays a critical role too. In Ayurveda, a diet supporting healthy hair includes plenty of greens, nuts like almonds and walnuts, and hydration. Fresh fruits with ample antioxidants like berries and citrus fruits should be part of your daily intake. The principle of Agni, or digestive fire, suggests avoiding spicy, fried, and excessively sour foods that might increase Pitta, which could aggravate hair loss issues.

Ashwagandha and Brahmi are herbs that aid in stress reduction and balance doshas which are vital for healthy hair. You might consider using these in supplement form, but it’s essential to consult a local Ayurvedic practitioner before beginning any herbal supplement to ensure safety and appropriateness.

Lastly, engage in calming practices like meditation or yoga — stress can an impact hair health significantly. It’s about gently invigorating your body’s channels, boosting overall health, and strengthening hair.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
