how to apply gulab jal on face - #42072

Harper

I am having this really frustrating issue with my skin lately. I’ve been reading about roses and all, and I heard that gulab jal can be super nice for your complexion? Like, I feel like my skin is always dry or maybe a bit oily at the same time? It’s just confusing, u know? I tried a few creams but they didn’t really work out for me. A friend suggested that I use gulab jal on face daily. But honestly, I have no clue how to apply gulab jal on face properly. Should I just splash it on or maybe use a cotton ball or something? I came across a few videos online where people say it’s amazing for hydrating but theirs looks so flawless; mine just looks....meh. I did a patch test and felt it was fine for me but now I’m worried I might be using it wrong. Is there a specific time that’s best to apply? Morning? Night? or both?? And should I mix it with anything or just use it straight? I want to see some real changes, u know? Any tips on how to apply gulab jal on face would be super helpful! Trying to get my glow back!!

Applying gulab jal, or rose water, on your face can indeed be beneficial, acting as a natural toner and promoting a healthy complexion. It’s particularly useful for those with combination skin – balancing both dryness and excessive oilyness. Here’s a straightforward, no-fuss approach to effectively using gulab jal on your face, tapping into some Ayurvedic insights.

First off, if you’ve passed the patch test with flying colors, you’re good to go. You’ll want to start by cleansing your face with a mild, natural cleanser appropriate for your skin type. Try doing this twice a day, morning and evening. Once you’ve got a clean canvas, it’s time to apply the gulab jal.

Use a clean cotton ball or pad for the application. Pour some gulab jal onto the cotton and gently dab it over your face and neck. Keep your touch gentle to avoid irritating your skin. Ensure you’ve covered all areas evenly without over-soaking them. Let it be absorbed naturally – no need to rinse it off.

It can be most effective to apply gulab jal twice daily. In the morning, it can refresh your skin, prepping it for the day, and at night, it can serve as a calming ritual that hydrates and soothes the skin overnight. Its calming properties can also contribute to better skin harmony when mixed with other treatments or serums, but initially, it’s best to see how your skin reacts to it alone.

For a more intensive treatment, you can create a face mask by mixing gulab jal with multani mitti (Fuller’s earth). This can help balance excess oil while providing deep hydration. Mix them into a paste, apply evenly, avoiding the eyes, let it dry, and then rinse with lukewarm water.

If you are aiming for a more enhanced treatment, consider storing gulab jal in the refrigerator. Applying it cold can help tighten pores and invigorate your skin even more. Just make sure not to freeze it – it’s not ice therapy after all!

That being said, introducing new skincare elements should always be within comfort. Monitor how your skin reacts and be open to tweak your routine. It’s a simple, yet profound way to care for your skin health and help bring back that glow. By incorporating gulab jal into your daily routine properly, you may find your skin starts to look and feel more balanced and hydrated.

Applying gulab jal, or rose water, to your face could indeed help balance your skin’s condition, often characterized by both oiliness and dryness. In Siddha-Ayurvedic terms, this might relate to both Vata (dryness) and Pitta (oiliness) imbalances. Here’s a straightforward method to get the best out of gulab jal for your skin.

First, ensure you’re using a quality gulab jal that is pure and free from artificial fragrance or additives. In the morning, after cleansing your face with a mild herbal cleanser appropriate for your prakriti (which you can choose based on your specific dosha), pour a small amount of gulab jal onto a cotton ball or pad. Gently dab this over your face, avoiding rubbing, which can cause irritation. Gulab jal’s cooling and hydrating properties help in soothing the skin while balancing the moisture levels.

Evenings are also ideal for applying gulab jal, especially after you’ve washed your face or removed any makeup. Similar to the morning routine, use a cotton pad to apply it. After using dental care products, such as toothpaste, take care. You can mix a few drops with an Ayurvedic base oil like jojoba or almond, specifically if your skin feels more dry, to enhance hydration and nourishment.

Avoid applying any other strong active skincare formulas immediately after gulab jal, as keeping the routine simple helps maintain the skin’s natural balance. Consistent application, both morning and evening, will help promote long-term benefits, like subtle hydration and a healthier glow.

If you continue having concerns or need more personalized skincare guidance, consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner would be valuable. They could help address any underlying doshic imbalances contributing to your skin’s behavior.
