what is eczema in hindi - #42868

Logan

I am really confused and kinda worried about this skin issue I've been dealing with for a while now! I’ve been having this weird rash that keeps showing up on my arms and legs. It's super itchy, like really unbearable sometimes, and I noticed it's getting red and scaly, which makes me feel kinda self-conscious, you know? I went to the doc and they mentioned eczema, but I didn’t really get it. What is eczema in Hindi? Like, can someone break it down for me, please? I tried searching online, but I got lost in all the technical stuff. My grandma use to say something about dry skin being an issue, which thinks relates to it? Besides that, I’ve heard folks say it can be related to allergies or stress? 😟 I’m curious if there’s any natural remedies or Ayurvedic treatments for this too? I want to find out what is eczema in hindi because understanding this might help me deal with it better. If anyone has tips or advice on calming this down, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks!

Eczema, which is known as “विचर्चिका” (Vicharchika) in Hindi, is a common skin condition that can cause itching, redness, and scaly rashes, like what you’re experiencing. In Ayurveda, it’s typically seen as a manifestation of imbalanced doshas, mainly Pitta and Kapha, maybe Vata as well contributing to dryness or roughness. This imbalance can disrupt the normal function of your skin and lead to symptoms like itching and inflammation.

Ayurvedically speaking, one way to address eczema is by focusing on your diet and lifestyle to restore balance to these doshas. Begin by consuming cooling, Pitta-pacifying foods. Avoid spicy, fried, and oily foods, which can increase Pitta dosha. Eat more fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Cooling herbal teas made with herbs like chamomile can also be helpful in calming Pitta.

Topically, you can apply coconut oil or neem oil to the affected areas — both have soothing properties and help reduce inflammation and dryness. You might also find relief by using a paste made from turmeric and sandalwood, known for its anti-inflammatory and cooling effects. Apply the paste on affected areas and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes before washing it off gently.

Stress could contribute to Vata imbalance, potentially exacerbating eczema, so consider incorporating routine practices like meditation, gentle yoga, or deep breathing to help manage your stress levels.

Stay hydrated throughout the day to help maintain skin moisture, and consider adding a little bit of ghee (clarified butter) to your diet.

Remember, these are general recommendations. For personalized advice, consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can tailor the treatments to fit your Prakriti (constitution) and Vikriti (current state of imbalance). And if your symptoms become worse or you experience severe discomfort, it’s crucial to follow up with a healthcare professional for further evaluation.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
