is patanjali aloe vera gel good for face - #42957

Zoey

I am dealing with some really frustrating skin issues lately. My face is super oily, and I always get these breakouts that seem to pop up out of nowhere! A friend told me about this Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel and said I should try it, but I’m wondering, is Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel good for face? I mean, I’ve tried other products before and had mixed results. Last week, I used a different brand's aloe vera gel, and while it felt nice at first, it made my skin even greasier, ugh! I’ve heard that Patanjali’s might be different, but, I just don’t want to waste my time or money if it’s not gonna help, ya know? My skin is sensitive, and sometimes even natural products irritate it. I’m also concerned about how long it takes to see results—like, do I need to use it every day for a while to really know, or can I tell quickly if it works? If anyone has experience with the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel specifically, like does it help with oily skin and doesn't give you more breakouts? I’ve read mixed reviews online too and now I’m kinda confused! Help, please!

Doctors' responses

Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel could potentially be supportive for your skin concerns, given its soothing and hydrating properties. Aloe vera is well-appreciated in Ayurveda for its coolant nature, making it a widely suitable choice for calming inflamed or irritated skin conditions. For your oily skin, this gel might assist in balancing oil production due to its non-comedogenic nature, which means it shouldn’t block your pores more.

However, with sensitive skin, even natural products can sometimes cause irritation, so it’s crucial to perform a patch test first - apply a smaller amount on a less visible area of your skin, like behind the ear or on your inner wrist. This can help you gauge any initial adverse reactions. Patanjali’s formula is generally revered for its simplicity, but that doesn’t negate the possibility of individual reactions.

As for application, begin with a conservative use, perhaps applying a thin layer once daily, preferably at night, after cleansing your face. Observe your skin’s response over a week. If no irritation occurs, you can consider gradual increase to twice a day. The gel’s light texture should not exacerbate oily conditions nor cause additional breakouts if your skin tolerates it well.

When it comes to results, patience and consistency is key. With regular use, you might notice changes over a couple of weeks, though individual experiences can vary. Sometimes natural products take time to align with your skin’s natural processes. Also, be mindful of your diet since excessive spicy, oily, or processed foods can contribute to imbalances reflected on the skin - aligning with the Ayurvedic principles of maintaining internal harmony for external health.

If you continue to experience breakouts, or you notice any worsening conditions, consulting with a dermatologist or an Ayurvedic practitioner would be ideal. They can provide specific guidance tailored to your dosha and skin type. And if skin issues persist, it might be indicative of deeper imbalances that need professional attention.
