Female patterned hair loss, often linked to hormonal imbalances, stress, or nutritional deficiencies, can be effectively addressed through Ayurveda by focusing on balancing doshas, particularly Vata and Pitta. Hair health is directly related to Dhatus (tissues) and Agni (digestive fire).

To stimulate hair follicles, start with your diet. Ayurvedic principles emphasize the importance of a balanced intake rich in proteins and vitamins essential for hair health. Include foods like nuts, seeds, leafy greens, and sweet fruits — these are nourishing and help in pacifying Vata and Pitta.

Use herbal oils such as Bhringraj oil or Amla oil for regular scalp massages. Warm the oil slightly before application. Massage gently using your fingertips in circular motions to stimulate blood circulation, providing nutrients to the hair follicles, revitalizing them.

Consider herbal supplements like Triphala, which aids in detoxifying the body, enhancing digestive fire (Agni), and promoting nutrient absorption. Consume one teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bedtime.

Stress management is crucial as stress can aggravate dosha imbalances that lead to hair loss. Practices such as yoga and meditation can help balance mind and body. Daily practices such as Pranayama help in maintaining internal balance, ensuring healthy hair growth.

Maintain a regular sleep schedule. Lack of sleep increases stress, impacting hair growth negatively. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep to allow the body to restore and repair.

Topically, you can use a mask made with fenugreek seeds. Soak 2 tablespoons overnight, blend into a paste, and apply on scalp. Leave for 30 minutes before washing off, it nurtures the scalp and follicles.

Avoid harsh chemical treatments and overuse of styling tools as they can weaken hair. Focus on maintaining a gentle hair care routine.
