can we use besan daily on face - #44357

Paisley

I am really curious about something that's been bothering me lately. So, I’ve been using besan for my skin for a while now, and I feel like it’s helping with my breakouts, but I’m not sure if it’s okay to use it every day. Like, can we use besan daily on face? I read somewhere that it can be good for cleansing, but I also don’t want to irritate my skin. My skin tends to get dry sometimes, and I really don’t want to make it worse. I started using besan in my routine because my friend told me about how it helped her skin glow. I mix it with some yogurt and honey, and it feels nice and soothing while I have it on. But now I’m all confused — is daily use too much? Or do you think it's safe? I mean, I’ve heard mixed things about using it too often, and honestly, I’m just trying to avoid another horrible experience with products that just make my skin worse. Plus, sometimes, I feel like my skin reacts different based on the weather or my mood or whatever, so it's hard to pin down what's good or bad for it. I just wanna make sure I'm not doing more harm than good. Can we use besan daily on face without any issues, or should I switch it up and not do it every day? Help!

Besan, or gram flour, is quite popular in Ayurveda for its cleansing and exfoliating properties. It can be beneficial for your skin, but whether you should use it daily depends on your skin type and any conditions you may have. Since you’ve noted that you experience dryness occasionally, it might be prudent to moderate frequencty to prevent exacerbating that dryness.

Besan acts as a natural cleanser, removing dirt and absorbing excess oil, which might be why it feels effective against breakouts. However, daily use could potentially strip your skin of its natural oils, particularly if it is already prone to dryness. You might want to start by adjusting its usage to every other day or even a few times a week, observing how your skin responds after each application.

When mixed with yogurt and honey, the combination provides a moisturizing balance, which is beneficial. Yogurt has probiotics and lactic acid that can gently exfoliate and brighten the skin, while honey is known for its hydrating and anti-bacterial properties. These ingredients help mitigate the drying effect of besan, making your mask more hydrating and nourishing.

It’s common for skin to react differently based on various factors, such as weather or even stress. To address these fluctuations, pay attention to your skin’s condition each day, adjust the frequency and the ingredients of your mask accordingly. If your skin feels particularly dry, consider enhancing the moisturizing aspects by adding more honey or a few drops of natural oils like almond or coconut oil to your mask.

Short-term observations as well as changes in your skin health over a longer duration will give you more personalized insights. If you notice any irritation or excessive dryness immediately stop the application and reassess. Consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner or dermatologist can help tailor recommendations more precisely to your unique skin type and concerns.
