how to use neelibringadi hair oil - #44685

Thomas

I am really struggling with my hair lately. I’ve been dealing with so much hair fall and dryness, it feels like a never-ending battle. My friend recommended neelibringadi hair oil, saying it worked wonders for her, but I’m totally lost on how to use neelibringadi hair oil correctly. Like, do I just apply it straight on my scalp? I read somewhere that it should be massaged in, but for how long? And how often do I need to do this? It’s so confusing, honestly! Last week, I tried mixing it with my regular coconut oil, thinking that’d help, but my hair felt greasy and heavy instead. Ugh. 😩 Then I saw some videos online showing people wrapping their hair in a warm towel after applying it. Is that really necessary? I also wonder if I should be using it daily or just a few times a week. I’m kinda nervous about overdoing it since my scalp can get oily really quickly. I’m also curious about the scent—some people say it smells amazing, but I’m not sure if I’d like it. Any tips on how to use neelibringadi hair oil without making my hair feel like a mess or worse? Super open to any advice! Thanks!

Doctors' responses

Neelibringadi hair oil is a traditional Ayurvedic preparation known for its benefits in promoting healthy hair and reducing hair fall. To use it effectively, it’s important to apply it correctly and in moderation based on your hair type and concerns. Start by gently warming about a tablespoon of the oil to help it spread more easily and enhance absorption. Apply to dry scalp, using your fingertips for a gentle massage. This helps stimulate the hair follicles and increase blood flow. Aim for about 10-15 minutes of massaging, focusing on the scalp more than the hair strands to avoid greasiness.

Regarding frequency, using neelibringadi hair oil 2-3 times a week is generally sufficient for most people. Given your mention of an oily scalp, you might want to start with twice a week and observe how your hair responds. Overuse can indeed lead to a greasy feel, especially if mixed with coconut oil, which is heavier. If you find that it’s too thick, using it on your scalp one night before washing your hair might suit you.

As for the warm towel, it’s not essential, but it can aid deeper penetration by opening up the scalp pores. Just dipping a towel in hot water, wringing it out, and wrapping it around your head after applying the oil can be an occasional treat, but not a necessity every time.

Many people find the scent of neelibringadi pleasant, with herbal and earthy undertones, but it’s subjective. If the smell is overpowering, consider using it as an overnight treatment and washing it out in the morning. This way, any lingering scent will mostly rinse away.

A practical tip for avoiding a heavy, greasy residue is to use a mild shampoo while washing it out, ensuring all oil is removed. This prevents the oily build-up that can make hair feel heavy. Remember, individual reactions and preferences vary, so adjust the process based on what works best for you.
