What Hajmola Imli actually is It is a digestive candy, not a supplement Contains: Salt (often black salt) Acids (citric / tartaric) Spices Sugar + flavoring agents It is meant for occasional digestion support, not daily bulk use. What happens if you take 12 tablets daily? 1️⃣ Excess salt & acidity Even if you don’t feel it immediately, over time it can cause: Acid reflux Gastritis Burning sensation in stomach or chest Mouth ulcers This is especially risky at age 48. 2️⃣ Weakens natural digestion (long term) Regular artificial stimulation can: Reduce your body’s own digestive enzyme production Create dependency (you feel digestion only after Hajmola) Ayurvedically, this aggravates Pitta. 3️⃣ Dental issues Acid + sugar → tooth enamel erosion Sensitivity Cavities This is very common in people who “suck” Hajmola like candy. 4️⃣ Can worsen cough & cold tendency You already mentioned: Frequent cough & cold Weather sensitivity Excess sour + salty items: Increase Kapha + Pitta imbalance Can trigger throat irritation and post-nasal drip Safe limit (important) ✔ Safe occasional use 2–3 tablets After a heavy meal Not every day ❌ Not safe 10–12 tablets daily Using it as candy Empty stomach use If you like the taste and mouth freshness (better alternatives) ✅ Healthier substitutes: Roasted saunf (fennel seeds) – after meals Saunf + mishri (small amount) Jeera + dhania water (sip in afternoon) Amla candy (low sugar) – 1–2 pieces only These support digestion without acidity. When Hajmola can be useful Occasionally helpful if you have: Heavy food intake Bloating Gas after outside food But not as a daily habit.
What about drinking ginger tea as normal as normal tea.(daily at evening)
