I understand how uncomfortable and frustrating this situation is especially when constipation is lasting for months and you are also managing blood pressure diabetes and chronic kidney disease

Difficulty in stool evacuation usually happens when digestion becomes weak and the intestines become dry and sluggish A low fiber diet and abdominal pain clearly indicate that the bowels are not getting enough bulk lubrication and regular stimulation

Your food should be simple soft warm and easy to digest Start your day with warm water Include cooked vegetables like bottle gourd ridge gourd pumpkin carrot and ash gourd Take well cooked oats rice kanji soft chapati or soft rice with cooked vegetables Use a small quantity of ghee daily if kidney condition permits Avoid bakery items refined flour fried food cheese excess tea coffee and packaged foods Eat at fixed times and never suppress the urge to pass stools

From an ayurvedic perspective mild bowel regulation is needed not strong purgation You may take Triphala churna half teaspoon at night with warm water If stools are very hard you can add Isabgol husk one teaspoon at night with warm water If abdominal pain and gas are present Hingvastak churna half teaspoon before meals once or twice daily can help All medicines should be continued only if there is no restriction advised by your nephrologist

Daily gentle walking abdominal breathing and regular sleep are very important for bowel movement Do not strain during evacuation and give the body time

If constipation continues despite these measures it needs further individual assessment especially considering CKD
