Doctors' responses

Hello Living with chronic digestive issues for three years is exhausting—I get it. The constant gas, bloating, fatigue, pain in your feet, and the rollercoaster with your weight—it’s a lot. The good news? Your earlier improvement with Ayurvedic medicines shows your body responds well, so there’s real hope for lasting change, not just quick fixes.

YOUR CONCERN

- It’s been going on for three years. - Every morning, your stool is semi-liquid or watery, with little mucus. - You deal with gas all day and feel especially bloated after lunch. - Weakness and fatigue are part of your daily life. - Your feet hurt. - Your weight went up from 60 to 75 kg on medicine, then dropped back to 68 kg after stopping treatment. - Kutaj helped with diarrhea but made your stools too hard. Other medicines like Livamrit, Arogyavardhini, Chitrakadi Vati, and Punarnavadi Mandur worked well for you overall. - Spicy food triggers things. - Your energy is low.

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

From an Ayurvedic angle, this isn’t just regular diarrhea. It looks like Grahani Roga—a chronic digestive disorder. The main trouble here is Mandagni, which means your digestive fire is weak and unstable. There’s a Vata-Pitta imbalance going on:

- Vata causes gas, bloating, pain, fatigue, and weight loss. - Pitta leads to loose stools and makes you react to spicy foods. - Ama, or toxins, build up when digestion is off. - Dhatu Kshaya, especially in Rasa and Mamsa dhatus, leads to weakness and foot pain.

Kutaj made your stools too hard because it’s binding, and when digestion is weak, that’s not what you need. The goal is to balance stool consistency, not just block Vata.

If you haven’t already, it’s smart to check a few things to rule out other causes: - CBC, ESR - Thyroid profile - Vitamin B12 & D - Stool routine and microscopy

This helps us rule out things like malabsorption, IBS-D, or inflammation.

What we want to do: - Get your stools stable—not too loose, not too hard - Improve digestion and nutrient absorption - Cut down the gas and bloating - Bring your energy and weight back up - Keep you steady even after you stop the medicines

AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT

1. Grahani Kapat Rasa: 1 tablet twice daily after food - This one’s classic for chronic Grahani. It controls loose stools without making you constipated.

2. Dadimashtaka Churna: ½ teaspoon twice daily after meals - Eases gas and bloating, and helps your body soak up nutrients.

3. Arogyavardhini Vati: 1 tablet twice daily after food - Supports your liver and digestion, and keeps Pitta in check—especially important with spicy food triggers.

4. Punarnavadi Mandur: 1 tablet twice daily after food - Improves strength and energy, helps maintain weight, and eases foot pain and fatigue.

5. Hingvashtaka Churna: ¼ teaspoon with the first bite of lunch and dinner - Great for gas and bloating; helps regulate Apana Vata.

Skip Kutaj for now. Right now, it tightens things up too much for you and makes the Vata imbalance worse.

DIET AND LIFESTYLE

Avoid: - Spicy, fried, or oily foods - Raw salads - Curd at night - Cold drinks - Skipping meals

Include: - Soft, warm, freshly cooked meals - Rice, moong dal, lauki, pumpkin - A little ghee with your food - Only drink warm water - Stick to regular meal times—this really helps with Grahani

Stick with the plan—don’t stop and start the medicines. Grahani needs regularity, not abrupt changes.

Don’t stop the medicines suddenly, even when you start feeling better. Let’s taper slowly. Consistency is the magic ingredient for recovery.

You’re not a “difficult case.” Your body’s already shown it can heal. Now it’s just about staying steady and giving your digestion the right support, long term. You can get back to normal stools, steady weight, real energy, and finally be free from the gas and bloating.

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

HELLO,

In Ayurveda, digestion is governed by Agni (digestive fire). In your case, Agni has become weak and irregular for a long time (3 years)

Because of this -food is not digested properly -nutrition is not absorbed fully -undigested food turns into Ama (toxic sticky waste) -Ama irritates the intestines -gas forms, stools become loose or watery -body becomes weak even if you eat properly

This condition is called Grahani Roga

WHY DO YOU GET:

-Water/semi liquid stool? =because agni is weak and intestines cannot hold food long enough for absorption

-Gas and bloating (especially after lunch) =due to disturbed vata dosha, food ferments instead of digesting

-Mucus in stool? =due to Ama + pitta irritation of the gut liing

-Weakness, fatigue, foot pain? =Because nutrients are not reaching tissues

-Weight fluctuation? = when Agni improves-> weight increases when treatment stops-> malabsorption returns-> weight falls

DOSHA INVOLVEMENT -VATA-> gas, bloating, pain, irregular digestion -PITTA->loose stools, mucus, intolerance to spicy food -KAPHA/AMA->heaviness, mucus, sluggish digestion So this is Vata-pitta dominant Grahani with Ama

WHY SOME MEDIICINES HELPED AND SOME CAUSED PROBLEMS -Chitrakadi vati->ignited agni -Arogyavardhini-> corrected pitta + liver metabolism -Punarnavadi mandur-> nourished tissues and improved strength -Livamrit->improves digestion ad absorption

Hence weight increased from 60->75kg

WHY KUTAJ CAUSED HARD STOOLS Kutaj is very drying and stool binding

Since -your vata was already high -agni was not fully stable

Kutaj over suppressed stools, causing hardness and discomfort

LESSON= In Grahani, stool should be regulated, not forcefully stopped

TREATMENT GOALS -remove ama (toxins) -restore digestive fire gently -normalize bowel movement -reduce gas and bloating -improve absorption -restore strength and energy -prevent recurrence

INTERNAL MEDICAITONS

1) CHITRAKADI VATI= 1 tab twice daily before meals for 8 weeks =strong agni stimulant, corrects long standing digestive weakness, reduces ama formation

2) BILVA AVALEHA= 1 tsp twice daily after meals for 8 weeks =controls loose stools without drying, strengthens intestines, reduces mucus and boating (safer than kutaj in your case)

3) HINGWASTAKA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm water before lunch and dinner for 6 weeks =best for gas, corrects vata movement, prevents fermentation of food

4) TAKRARISHTA= 15m + equal water after lunch for 3 months =improves absorption, strengthen grahani, restores gut flora naturally

5) PUNARNAVADI MANDUR= 1 tab twice daily after meals for 3 months =corrects weakness, nourishes tissues, helps foot pain and fatigue, prevents anemia like symptoms

6) SHATAVARI GHRITA= 1 tsp early morning with warm water for 3 months =heals intestinal lining, balances pitta, prevents recurrence

7) ASHWAGANDHA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp at night with warm water for 2 months =improves strength, reduces fatigue, support nervous system

EXTERNAL TREATMENT

OIL MASSAGE=WARM SESMAE OIL -2-3 times/week especially legs and feet =pacifies vata, improves circulation, reduces fatigue and pain

DIET -warm, freshly cooked food -rice, wheat -mong dal, massor dal -bottle gourd, pumpkin, ridge gourd -cow ghee small quantity

AVOID -spicy food -fried food -junk food -cold water -bakey item -raw salads -tea,coffee, alcohol

BUTTERMILK VERY IMPORTANT -after lunch only -diluted -with roasted cumin + rock salt

LIFESTYLE CHANGES -eat at fixed timings -no skipping meals -no late night eating -walk after meals -avoid daytime sleep -reduce mental stress Stress directly worsens Grahani

YOGA ASANAS -pawanmuktasana -malasana -vajasana after meals -bhujangasana

PRANAYAM -Anulom Vilom= 10 min -deepabdominal breathing -avoid kapalbhati in loose stools phase

HOME REMEDIES -warm water throughout day -ginger + cumin tea -roasted fennel after meals -small amount of ghee daily

EXPECTED RECOVERY TIMELINE -2-3 WEEKS=stool improves -4-6 WEEKS= gas and bloating reduce -2-3 MONTHS= strength and weight stabilisation -6 MONTHS= long term gut stability

This condition Is reversible but requires -consistency -patience -lifestyle discipline

Grahani is not cured by short treatment Once Agni becomes stable, your body will heal naturally

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

From what you have shared it seems you are having long standing digestive imbalance with semi liquid watery stool once in morning low mucus frequent gas especially after lunch bloating weakness fatigue and pain in feet Your digestive fire is low leading to poor absorption of nutrients and low energy

Previous medicines like Livamrit Arogyavardhini Chitrakadi Vati and Punarvadi Mandoor helped you gain weight and improve digestion which shows your body responds well to,Ayurvedic treatment Stopping them led to recurrence of watery stool bloating low energy and weight loss which is common when digestive imbalance is not fully stabilized.

At this stage treatment should focus on improving digestive fire regulating stool consistency gently detoxifying toxins strengthening metabolism and supporting weight gain.

Kutajghan Vati 2 tablets twice daily after meals with lukewarm water to control semi liquid stool and regulate gut motility…

Chitrakadi Vati 1 tablet twice daily before meals with warm water to improve digestion and reduce bloating and gas… Punarnavadi Mandoor 1 tsp twice daily with warm water…

Livamrit 2 tsp twice daily before meals to improve overall metabolism and energy…

Aloe Vera juice 20 to 30 ml daily on empty stomach helps soothe gut lining reduce inflammation and improve nutrient absorption…

Take 3 to 4 small meals in a day avoid heavy oily spicy and junk food Include easily digestible meals like khichdi upma dal rice cooked vegetables Avoid cold drinks and water immediately after meals walking after meals helps reduce bloating and gas… Manage stress and get adequate sleep as chronic stress worsens

Consistency and adherence to this plan is key to stabilizing digestion and preventing recurrence…

YOUR SYMPTOMS SHOW CHRONIC AGNI WEAKNESS WITH VATA PREDOMINANCE AND INTERMITTENT PITTA INVOLVEMENT WHICH IS WHY STOOL IS SEMI LIQUID WATERY WITH GAS BLOATED FEELING WEAKNESS FATIGUE AND PAIN IN FEET

THE FACT THAT KUTAJ MADE STOOL VERY HARD TELLS ME THAT PURE STAMBHANA IS NOT SUITING YOUR GUT YOUR DIGESTION NEEDS DEEPAN PACHAN AND GRAHI BALANCE TOGETHER NOT SUDDEN STOPPAGE OF STOOL

YOU RESPONDED VERY WELL TO LIVAMRIT AROGYAVARDHINI CHITRAKADI VATI AND PUNARNAVA MANDOOR WHICH CONFIRMS THAT YOUR ROOT ISSUE IS WEAK DIGESTIVE FIRE LIVER SUPPORT AND RASA RAKTA DHATU NOURISHMENT WHEN YOU STOPPED REGULARITY WEIGHT DROPPED AND STOOL BECAME LOOSE AGAIN SO CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY FOR YOUR BODY

LIVAMRIT TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD WITH LUKEWARM WATER

AROGYAVARDHINI VATI ONE TABLET ONCE DAILY AFTER BREAKFAST

CHITRAKADI VATI ONE TABLET TWICE DAILY BEFORE FOOD

PUNARNAVA MANDOOR ONE TABLET TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD INSTEAD OF KUTAJ USE MUSTA CHURNA HALF TEASPOON TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD WITH WARM WATER THIS WILL CONTROL LOOSE STOOL WITHOUT MAKING IT HARD

HINGVASHTAK CHURNA HALF TEASPOON AFTER MEALS

AVOID SPICY FOOD FRIED FOOD RAW SALADS BAKERY ITEMS AND COLD DRINKS EAT SIMPLE WARM FRESHLY COOKED FOOD RICE MOONG DAL VEGETABLES LIKE BOTTLE GOURD RIDGE GOURD CARROT USE BUTTERMILK AT LUNCH TIME ONLY WITH ROASTED JEERA AND A PINCH OF ROCK SALT

DO NOT SKIP MEALS EAT AT FIXED TIME AVOID DAY SLEEP WALK FOR TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER MEALS

YOUR LOW ENERGY WEAKNESS AND FEET PAIN ARE DUE TO POOR ABSORPTION AND VATA AGGRAVATION ONCE DIGESTION STABILISES STRENGTH WILL RETURN

THIS CONDITION WILL NOT GET CURED IN FEW DAYS BUT IF YOU FOLLOW THIS REGULARLY FOR AT LEAST THREE MONTHS STOOL WILL NORMALISE GAS WILL REDUCE WEIGHT WILL STABILISE AND ENERGY WILL IMPROVE

DO NOT STOP MEDICINES ABRUPTLY ONCE YOU FEEL BETTER TAPER SLOWL BASED ON RESPONE
