Hello I get why you’re worried about weight gain after 50. It’s pretty common for your body to start storing more fat and water, and your metabolism can slow down. At 53, 5 feet tall, and 66 kg, it sounds like you might be dealing with some water retention and a slower metabolism. Ayurveda can totally help you deal with this safely! YOUR CONCERNAge: 53 – Height: 5 ft – Weight: 66 kg – Goal: Lose weight – Question: Can I take Shuddhi powder and Punarnava powder together every day? How Ayurveda Sees It After 50, especially for women: – Kapha tends to increase. – Your metabolism (Agni) gets slower. – You retain more water. – Fat likes to hang out around your belly, thighs, and hips. – Punarnava helps get rid of water retention and swelling. – Shuddhi powder (for detox) helps clear out toxins and gets your digestion moving. But, if you mix them up wrong, you could end up feeling weak, dried out, and things could get off balance. So, you gotta be smart about it. Can you take them together? ❌ Not at the same time! But… ✅ YES you can use them on the same day if you time it right! How to Take Them the Right Way 1. Morning (empty stomach): Punarnava Churna – ½ tsp with warm water (Helps with water retention, swelling, and belly bloat) 2. Night (after dinner): Shuddhi Churna– ½ tsp with warm water (Detoxes your liver and gut, helps cut down on fat storage) Don’t take them at the same time, or it can mess with your digestion and hormones. To Really Lose Fat Avoid: – Rice at night –Sugar –Fried foods –Dairy at night Eat: – A light dinner – Warm foods –Veggies –Moong dal –Buttermilk Walk for 30–40 minutes every day. This way is safe, easy on your hormones, and something you can keep up with. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

You can take Shuddhi and Punarnava powders together, but: Start with small doses to check tolerance. Punarnava may increase urination; watch for dehydration. Effects on weight loss are mild; lifestyle changes matter most. - for better results combine with diet, lifestyle and excercise

You can take Shuddhi powder and Punarnava powder together, but they are not a guaranteed or standalone solution for weight loss. 🔑 Key Considerations Shuddhi Powder: - Marketed as a detox and fat-burn supplement. - Often contains a mix of herbs for digestion, metabolism, and cleansing. - May cause loose motions or digestive changes if taken in excess. Punarnava Powder (Boerhavia diffusa): - Acts as a natural diuretic, reducing water retention and swelling. - Supports kidney and liver health, improves digestion, and reduces inflammation. - Not a direct fat-burner; weight reduction is mostly from water loss. - Should be avoided by people with low blood pressure or those on diuretics/heart medications. 🚨 Risks & Precautions - Not a substitute for diet/exercise: Both powders may support metabolism and reduce bloating, but sustainable weight loss requires lifestyle changes. - Electrolyte imbalance: Punarnava’s diuretic effect can deplete potassium and sodium if used daily. - Age factor (53 years): At this stage, metabolism slows naturally; aggressive detox or diuretic use can strain kidneys and liver. - Medical conditions: If you have thyroid imbalance, diabetes, or blood pressure issues, consult a physician before combining these powders. ✅ Safer Approach for Weight Management - Dietary focus: Balanced meals with more fiber, lean protein, and reduced refined carbs. - Daily activity: Gentle yoga, walking, or pranayama for metabolism and stress balance. - Ayurvedic alternatives: Triphala powder at night for digestion, or Guggul-based (Like Medohara guggulu) formulations for fat metabolism, often considered safer for long-term use. Warm Regards DR. ANJALI SEHRAWAT
