Doctors' responses

-At 76, it’s important to consult a urologist before starting any medicine, as age and other health issues can affect safety. Lifestyle tips: limit fluids at night, reduce caffeine/alcohol, and try double voiding. - continue allopathic treatment -Internal Medications 1)Chandraprabha Vati – 250 mg, 2 tablets twice daily after food. Helps improve urinary flow. 2)Varunadi Kashayam – 15ml, twice daily. Decoction of Varuna (Crataeva nurvala) to reduce prostate swelling. 3)Punarnavadi Guggulu – 500 mg, 2 tablets twice daily. Mild diuretic and anti-inflammatory. 4)Kanchanara Guggulu – 500 mg, 2 tablets twice daily. Helps with swelling or nodularity in the prostate. -External / Lifestyle Measures Take a sitz bath with lukewarm water for 10–15 minutes daily. Avoid excessive cold drinks and heavy, oily foods. Practice Mula Bandha and Kegel exercises to strengthen pelvic muscles. Drink 6–8 glasses of water spaced through the day; avoid drinking large amounts at night. -Dietary Advice Eat light, warm, and easily digestible foods. Include green vegetables, turmeric, ginger, and garlic. Avoid red meat, fried foods, alcohol, and caffeine. -Follow-up Reassess urinary symptoms every 4 weeks. Monitor urine output, burning, or difficulty in flow. If symptoms worsen (blood in urine, severe pain, or retention), see a urologist immediately.
