Doctors' responses

🚨 First Important Thing Urethral stricture is a structural narrowing of the urethra. It is fibrotic scar tissue. Oil alone cannot remove scar tissue. Uttar Basti oil may soothe irritation, but it cannot permanently open a fibrotic stricture. 📊 About 18 ml/sec Flow Normal male Qmax: 20–25 ml/sec → normal 15–20 ml/sec → mild obstruction <15 ml/sec → significant obstruction 18 ml/sec is mild narrowing, not severe yet. But since you have pain and recurrence history, evaluation is important. 🧠 Why It Recurs Stricture causes: Scar formation Fibrosis Narrow lumen Weak urine stream Pain Repeated dilation often causes: Temporary relief Recurrence More scar tissue 🌿 About Uttar Basti In Ayurveda, Uttar Basti is used for: Urethral inflammation Mutrakricchra Vata disorders Common oils used: Bala Taila Ksheerabala Taila Sahacharadi Taila Yashtimadhu Taila But IMPORTANT: ⚠️ If active stricture exists, oil instillation without urologist supervision can: Cause infection Cause trauma Worsen narrowing 🎯 Best Medical Advice Now Since you had: Surgery Multiple dilations Recurrence again You should: 1️⃣ Do Uroflowmetry again 2️⃣ Get Retrograde Urethrogram (RUG) 3️⃣ Consult urologist about: Internal urethrotomy (if short segment) OR Urethroplasty (definitive surgery) Urethroplasty gives highest long-term success. Repeated dilation is not long-term solution.
