Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
In Ayurveda, dry eczema with a burning sensation can be attributed to an imbalance in both Vata and Pitta doshas. The dryness indicates a Vata imbalance, which is characterized by roughness and scaling. The burning sensation suggests an increase in Pitta, which brings heat and inflammation to the skin.
When these doshas are imbalanced, they can lead to weak digestion or Agni, which in turn allows Ama (toxins) to accumulate in the body. This accumulation can manifest in the skin, causing persistent eczema despite previous treatments.
Ayurveda views this as a systemic issue, not just a skin problem. It’s crucial to balance your doshas, improve digestion, and eliminate Ama to see a long-lasting improvement.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible.
1. How would you describe the severity of your eczema? Is it mild with occasional flare-ups, or more severe and constant? 2. What treatments have you tried so far for your eczema? Have they been topical creams, oral medications, or home remedies? 3. Have you noticed any specific triggers for your eczema flare-ups, such as certain foods, environmental factors, or stress? 4. How is your overall digestive health? Do you experience bloating, gas, or other digestive issues? 5. Do you experience any other symptoms along with your eczema, such as itching, redness, or inflammation? 6. How would you rate your stress levels currently?
