Can I make memorie stronger with Ayurveda? - #112

I hope you can help me.It very bad! I forget things all the time, like where I put my keys or what I need to buy from store. This problem start few years ago, and I try many things to fix it. I eat nuts and drink herbal tea, but nothing help. I even try meditation, but my mind always wander. I feel very frustrated because I want to remember important things, like my family birthdays and work tasks. Thank you very much for your help!

Hello Rajesh, Please mention your age and if there is any family history of neurological disorders. Do you have any other health issues. It is better to get an evaluation done from a neurologist as well to rule out any primary causes.

First, let’s talk about your doshas. Memory problems often stem from an imbalance in Vata dosha, which can cause restless minds, forgetfulness, and trouble concentrating.

Let’s tweak your current approach a bit. Start integrating the herbal product Brahmi into your daily regimen. Brahmi is great for mental clarity and cognitive function. A dose of about 500 mg of Brahmi capsule daily could do the trick, preferably with warm milk, in the morning.

Have you looked into Ashwagandha? It’s another wonderful herb that reduces stress, which often plays a role in memory issues. Mixing a teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder into a glass of warm milk at night could help calm your mind before you sleep.

Diet plays a huge role too. Making food choices that strengthen your digestive fire (or agni) can impact your mind for sure. Consider increasing your intake of fresh fruits, like bananas or mangoes, which pacify Vata. Foods rich in good fats, like ghee and avocados, could also boost your brain functions.
