In Ayurvedic terms, continuous kidney pain like yours may indicate an imbalance in the doshas, potentially affecting the apana vayu and the mutra vaha srotas, which are responsible for excretion and proper kidney function. First of all, it’s essential to note that severe pain in the kidney area can be a sign of something needing urgent attention, like infection or stones. Therefore, I recommend visiting a healthcare provider immediately to rule out any serious conditions.

Once you’re clear that medical intervention isn’t needed, Ayurveda can support kidney health and relieve discomfort. You might find Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa) beneficial. It’s known for its ability to support kidney function and work as a diuretic, helping reduce swelling and pain. You’d typically take Punarnava powder - about half teaspoon with warm water, twice daily. But do make sure to consult with a healthcare provider familiar with your history before starting any herbal supplement, as they can interact with other medications.

Furthermore, diet and lifestyle adjustments are quite vital. Stay hydrated with lukewarm water to support kidney functions but do not overhydrate especially if swelling is present. Avoid high protein foods which can overburden the kidneys. Instead, focus on easily digestible foods like well-cooked vegetables and kichari (rice and lentils). Incorporate kidney-strengthening spices like cumin and coriander in your food.

Practicing pranayama like Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) can help in balancing doshas and releasing tension, especially the tightness around your back and belly muscles. Make sure to eliminate any kind of rigorous physical activity that might worsen your pain.

Lastly, adopting a routine with enough rest is crucial for recovery. Yet if kidney pain persists or worsen, don’t delay seeking medical evaluation, as it’s important in understanding the underlying conditions causing your symptoms. Take care.
