Dear Rajesh, Are you recently having these issue or having since childhood? Generally Vata dominant people have this tendency and can get extremely affected when there is severe Vata aggravation. There is also a link of impairment in the digestive system alongside. Ayurvedic management of hyperactivity disorder (often referred to as ADHD) focuses on balancing the doshas, improving concentration, and calming the mind. Here’s a general approach:

1. Dietary Recommendations Sattvic Foods: Encourage a diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. Avoid processed foods, excess sugar, and artificial additives. Stay away from stimulating foods and beverages like coffee, tea, caffeine drinks etc. Regular Meals: Maintain consistent meal times to stabilize energy levels and mood. Follow a proper schedule for everyday. 2. Remedies Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri): Known for its cognitive-enhancing properties, Brahmi can help improve focus and reduce anxiety. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): Helps manage stress and promotes calmness. Shankhapushpi: Traditionally used to enhance memory and cognitive function. Vacha (Acorus calamus): Supports mental clarity and can help reduce restlessness. Do not consume these without proper consultation. 3. Lifestyle Modifications Yoga and Exercise: Incorporate regular physical activity and yoga to improve focus and reduce excess energy. Poses like child’s pose and forward bends can promote calmness. Meditation and Mindfulness: Daily practices of meditation or mindfulness can help improve concentration and reduce hyperactivity. 4. Routine Establish a structured daily routine, including time for homework, play, and relaxation. Consistency can provide a sense of security and help manage symptoms. 5. Aromatherapy Use calming essential oils like lavender or chamomile in a diffuser to create a peaceful environment. 6. Consultation Work with an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized treatment, which may include specific herbal formulations and dietary advice tailored to the individual’s constitution (dosha). Final Note While Ayurveda can offer supportive strategies, it’s essential to monitor progress and consider integrating conventional medical advice if necessary. Always consult with healthcare providers for a comprehensive approach to treatment.

In Ayurveda, hyperactivity is often linked to an imbalance in Vata dosha, which governs movement and activity in both the body and mind. When Vata is aggravated, it can manifest as restlessness, excessive mental activity, and hyperactivity. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on calming and grounding the mind and body. Herbs like brahmi, jatamansi, and ashwagandha are commonly recommended for their calming and rejuvenating properties. Brahmi is known to improve mental clarity and calm the nervous system, while jatamansi helps reduce restlessness and anxiety. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that helps balance stress and energy levels. Along with these herbs, Ayurvedic oils like bhringraj or sesame oil can be used for head and body massages (abhyanga) to soothe the nervous system. Dietary changes are equally important, and consuming warm, nourishing foods like soups, ghee, and cooked vegetables can help pacify Vata. Avoiding stimulants like caffeine, as well as overly cold and dry foods, is essential. Regular practices such as yoga, pranayama, and meditation can further support mental calmness and relaxation. Techniques like anuloma viloma (alternate nostril breathing) are particularly effective in balancing the mind. Additionally, sticking to a regular routine with consistent sleep patterns can help stabilize energy and reduce hyperactivity. It’s important to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to receive a personalized plan that fits your body type and condition. By balancing Vata and following a calming lifestyle, it is possible to manage and reduce the overwhelming feelings of hyperactivity.

Hey, sorry to hear you’re struggling with such hyperactivity, it can be quite overwhelming, right? In Ayurveda, we’d probably take a deep dive into your dosha – which in your case, may point to an imbalance primarily in Vata. When Vata goes out of whack, it can lead to the kind of restlessness and jumpy mind you’re describing.

First, diets. Don’t skip this part! Try incorporating more grounding foods into your meals. Think warm, cooked foods like soups and stews. Sweet potatoes, brown rice, and cooked leafy greens are ah-mazing to calm Vata. Avoid cold raw foods and icy drinks, which just escalate that hyper vibe. And caffeine? Bye-bye, just cut down on that.

For lifestyle, establish a stable routine, might sound boring but routines are magic here. Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day helps tons. And hey, try yoga or tai chi, both could be lifesavers. They work wonders at slowly bringing your energy levels down to a functional pace. Pranayama, the breathing exercises? Worth trying, really. Nadi Shodhana, to be precise – it settles the energy going up and down, something you should defo look into. Try doing this everyday, once in the morning when it’s still peaceful.

Herbs can also play a role. Maybe Ashwagandha? It’s known to manage stress; sip it as a tea or take in powdered form. But, yeah, be aware of allergies or reactions, always a smart move to check with a health professional before diving in. And of course, since medications are on the table, it’s super important to talk to your doc before adding new things into the mix.

Lastly, don’t beat yourself up. Finding balance ain’t easy and it takes time. Give yourself a break when things don’t change immediately and hang in there. Patience buddy, really it’s key so take it one step at a time.
