My father 76 has following conditions. He also taking medications for diabetic. His creatinine level 1.1. EFGR 74. Protien in urine 33. His blood pressure is at lower range 100/60. We are kaing medications for this. He has developed following hearth and lung issues. His english doctor told he has to take medications long term. Is there any cure in Ayurveda or or Ayurveda is better for his condition. 1. The Heart Issues His heart has normal pumping strength (EF 59%), which is excellent news [10.1]. The issues are related to muscle stiffness and mild size changes [10.1]: Grade 1 Diastolic Dysfunction (Relaxation Abnormality): The muscle fibers in his lower left heart chamber are slightly stiff [10.1]. While the heart pumps blood out perfectly, it takes a fraction of a second longer to relax and fill with blood between beats [10.1]. This is a very common, expected part of aging for a 76-year-old. Mild Right-Side Enlargement (RA/RV Dilation): Because the left side is slightly stiff, blood pressure can back up subtly into the lungs and into the right side of the heart. Over time, this extra workload has caused the right upper chamber (Right Atrium) and right lower chamber (Right Ventricle) to stretch and become mildly enlarged [10.1]. Mild Valve Leakage (Mitral & Tricuspid Regurgitation): The heart has internal doors (valves) to keep blood flowing forward [10.1]. Due to decades of normal wear and tear, his mitral valve (on the left) and tricuspid valve (on the right) do not close perfectly tight, allowing a tiny, mild amount of blood to leak backward during a heartbeat [10.1]. 2. The Lung Connection His oxygen levels are currently stable (SPO2 96%), meaning his lungs are extracting oxygen well. The Pulmonary Pressure Bottleneck: The lung issue is not an infection or a disease inside the lungs themselves. Instead, it is a structural bottleneck. Because the right side of his heart is mildly enlarged, his lungs must stay completely clear of mucus and restriction [10.1]. If his airways narrow or plug up, the pressure inside his lung arteries will spike, forcing that mildly enlarged right heart to pump against a heavy wall of resistance.

How long has your father been experiencing these heart and lung issues?:

- Less than 1 month

What medications is he currently taking for his heart and lung conditions?:

- Other medications

Has your father experienced any symptoms like shortness of breath or fatigue?:

- No

How is his appetite and digestion?:

- Good — regular appetite

Does he have any other underlying health conditions apart from diabetes?:

- Not sure

How would you describe his energy levels throughout the day?:

- High — very active

What does his daily diet typically include?:

- Limited information

Has he made any lifestyle changes recently, such as exercise or stress management?:

- No changes

Heart pumping is good (EF 59%). Main issue is age-related heart stiffness and mild right-heart strain. Continue cardiac and diabetes medicines. Take Arjuna 500 mg twice daily after food Punarnava 500 mg twice daily if swelling Sitopaladi Churna 2 gm with honey twice daily for lungs/mucus Advice Warm light diet Less salt Avoid cold and fried foods Gentle walking + pranayama Avoid strong BP-lowering Ayurvedic medicines because BP is already low (100/60). Ayurveda can support symptoms and lung-heart function but continue long-term cardiology follow-up.

•• The Ayurvedic Perspective on His Condition From an Ayurvedic lens, your father is experiencing Hrid-Gata Vata (Vata affecting the heart). ••Diastolic Dysfunction: This is seen as Raukshya (dryness/stiffness) of the Hridaya Peshi (heart muscles). Vata has increased, making the muscles less supple. ••Right-Side Enlargement: This is a sign of Srotas Avarodha (blockage in the channels). The heart is working harder because the “flow” is not smooth. ••Protein in Urine (33 mg): This indicates early Prameha Upadrava (complications of diabetes) affecting the Vrikka (kidneys). It suggests the filtration membrane needs strengthening. 2. Can Ayurveda “Cure” This? At this stage of life and with structural changes (enlarged chambers and valve leakage), the term “cure” is replaced by “Effective Management.” •••Integration is Key: Do not stop his English (Allopathic) medications. Ayurveda can be used as a complementary therapy to improve muscle elasticity, reduce the workload on the heart, and protect the kidneys. ••Ayurveda’s Strength: While modern medicine manages the pressure and rhythm, Ayurveda focuses on Hriday Shaktivardhak (strengthening the heart tissue) and Mutravaha Srotas (cleansing the urinary tract). ••For Heart Strength & Elasticity Arjuna vati : 1BD after food with normal water .The gold standard for heart health. It is a Hridaya (cardiac tonic) that helps with muscle relaxation and valve health. •••For Kidney Protection (Proteinuria) Gokshuradi guggulu : 1-0-1 After food with normal water . Helps in strengthening the kidney filtration units and managing the protein leakage. ••Chandraprabha Vati: 1-0-1 after food with normal water .A classical formulation used to manage diabetic complications and urinary health. •••• Important Precautions ••Blood Pressure Watch: Since his BP is already on the lower side (100/60), be very careful with diuretic herbs. Excessive “water-flushing” could drop his BP further. ••Salt Intake: Switch to Saindhava Lavana (Himalayan Pink Salt) in very small quantities to manage fluid retention without spiking pressure. •••Diet: Focus on Vata-pacifying foods—warm, easy to digest, and slightly oily (using Ghee). Avoid cold, dry, or gas-forming foods (like cabbage or heavy beans) which can push against the diaphragm and distress the heart

Treating a 76-year-old patient with multiple conditions (Diabetes, mild heart issues, and lung bottleneck) requires a very careful, balanced approach. While Ayurveda has a rich history of supporting cardiac health, it is important to treat it as a complementary therapy rather than a “cure” for structural changes like valve leakage or age-related stiffness. Below is a breakdown of how Ayurvedic principles and the products you mentioned might support your father’s health. I have prescribed medicines for you take them consistently and you will see results surely, you Can also consult on personal consultation . Dos✅ Use Garlic and Ginger in cooking; they act as natural blood thinners and improve circulation. Sip warm water throughout the day. It prevents mucus buildup in the lungs. Pranayama (Anulom Vilom): Very gentle alternate nostril breathing helps oxygenation without straining the heart. Check BP and Blood Sugar regularly. Some herbs can slightly lower sugar or BP further. Donts ❌ Avoid heavy, salty, or fried foods. Salt increases pressure in the lung arteries. Avoid cold or iced drinks, which can constrict the respiratory passages. No heavy exertion. Even if he is active, he should avoid lifting heavy weights or sudden bursts of speed. Do not stop Allopathic meds. Ayurveda should be an “add-on,” not a replacement for long-term heart meds.

Your father’s condition appears stable and well-managed medically, and this is a very positive sign. In Ayurveda, this condition can be understood as an age-related weakening and stiffness of the Hridaya (heart) and Pranavaha Srotas (lung channels), mainly involving Vata dosha with mild obstruction in circulation. The good news is: His heart pumping power (EF 59%) is preserved. Oxygen level is normal. Kidney function is reasonably good for his age. He is active and energetic. So Ayurveda can be very helpful as a supportive and long-term strengthening therapy, especially to: Improve heart muscle nourishment Support circulation Reduce stiffness and strain on the heart Maintain clear lung channels Improve vitality and healthy aging However, this is important: Ayurveda should not replace his current cardiac and diabetic medicines abruptly. His current medicines are protecting the heart from future complications. Ayurveda works best as an integrated supportive approach. Ayurvedic Understanding His condition resembles: Hridroga (degenerative cardiac weakness) Vata predominance in old age Mild fluid/circulation imbalance Early age-related valve degeneration This is generally considered a manageable condition rather than a completely curable one at 76 years of age. The aim is: Prevent progression Maintain quality of life Improve stamina and circulation Avoid breathlessness and congestion Helpful Ayurvedic Medicines Commonly used supportive medicines include: Arjuna – best Ayurvedic cardiotonic for heart muscle and valves Pushkarmool – supports heart and lungs Lasuna (Garlic) – improves circulation Dashamoola – reduces Vata and stiffness Punarnava – supports fluid balance and kidneys Brahmi/Jatamansi – if stress or sleep disturbance exists Classical preparations often used: Arjunarishta Prabhakar Vati Hridayarnava Rasa Punarnavadi Kashayam But dosage must be individualized considering: Diabetes Low BP (100/60) Kidney status Current cardiac medicines Diet & Lifestyle Advice Very important for him: Warm, light, freshly cooked food Reduce excess salt, fried food, curd at night Avoid heavy dinner Keep bowels clear daily Sip warm water through the day Avoid daytime sleeping Gentle walking and breathing exercises daily Avoid cold exposure and chest congestion Lung Protection is Essential Because the right side of heart is mildly enlarged, preventing mucus accumulation is very important. Useful practices: Steam inhalation occasionally Mild pranayama Avoid dust, smoke, cold foods, refrigerated items Early treatment of cough/cold Important Warning Signs Seek immediate medical care if he develops: Breathlessness Swelling in legs Chest pain Sudden fatigue Drop in oxygen levels Persistent cough at night Final Advice Ayurveda can definitely help your father by: Supporting cardiac function naturally Improving circulation and lung resilience Slowing age-related degeneration Enhancing strength and quality of life

●In Ayurveda, stiffness and relaxation abnormalities are often viewed as a Vata imbalance within the Mamsa (muscle) and Sira (vessels) of the heart. ●Normact capsules:Garlic ingredients Known as a potent Vata-hara and Srotovishodhaka (channel cleanser). It helps in maintaining the flexibility of the cardiac tissues and managing subtle pressure changes.Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna):This is the premier herb for “Hridaya.” It is traditionally used to improve the tone of the cardiac muscles. Its Kashaya (astringent) property helps in strengthening the chambers, while its Hridya (cardio-protective) nature supports overall function. ●Total Heart Support - 2 Capsules twice daily with plain water, after meals. ●Managing Right-Side Enlargement & Valve Leakage The goal here is to reduce the “workload” or the Avalambaka Kapha (the fluid/protective aspect of the heart) from becoming too heavy or congested. ●Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa): This is a key herb for “Dilation” or enlargement. It acts as a mild natural diuretic (Mutrala), which reduces the volume load on the right side of the heart, effectively lowering the resistance the heart has to pump against. ●Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris): Helps in maintaining systemic fluid balance and supports the heart’s pumping efficiency without overtaxing the valves. ●Maintaining the Lung-Heart Bottleneck Since the right heart is sensitive to lung resistance, keeping the airways clear of Kapha (mucus) is critical. ●Pushkarmoola (Inula racemosa): Specifically indicated for Hrid-Roga and Shwasa occurring together. It acts as a bronchodilator, ensuring the “bottleneck” in the lungs stays open. ●Triphala In very small doses, it helps in preventing mucus buildup, ensuring that oxygen exchange remains efficient and the pulmonary pressure stays stable. ●Pranayama: Gentle Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) is excellent for balancing the nervous system and reducing the stress response that can tighten heart muscles. ●Dietary Focus: Favoring Hridya foods like pomegranate, grapes, and walnuts. Reducing heavy, salty, and sour foods helps prevent water retention and stiffness in the circulatory system.

Hello dear, It is heartening to see that your father’s heart pumping strength (EF 59%) remains strong. In Ayurveda, his condition is viewed as a combination of Vata imbalance (causing stiffness and dryness in the heart muscle/valves) and Prana Vayu obstruction, which affects the heart-lung connection. The goal in Ayurveda for a 76-year-old is Rasayana (rejuvenation) and Hridaya Balya (strengthening the cardiac muscles) to manage the “stiffness” (Diastolic Dysfunction) and prevent further “bottlenecking” in the lungs. In Ayurveda, Diastolic Dysfunction Seen as Stambha (rigidity) due to increased Vata. We use herbs that “soften” and nourish the muscle. Valve Leakage & Dilation: Viewed as a weakness in the Mamsa Dhatu (muscle tissue). Herbs are used to improve the structural integrity of the heart walls. Lung Pressure: Focuses on Anulomana (ensuring smooth downward flow of energy) to prevent pressure buildup from the lungs back to the heart. Prescription : 1. Parthadyarishtam (Arjunarishta) This is the primary cardiac tonic. It contains Arjuna, which helps strengthen the heart muscles and supports the valves. Dose: 15 ml to 20 ml mixed with an equal amount of lukewarm water, twice daily after food. Dose: 1 tablet twice daily after food. 2. Dasamoolarishtam Used here to support the lung-heart connection. It helps reduce inflammation in the respiratory tract and ensures the “bottleneck” pressure doesn’t spike. Dose: 15 ml mixed with equal water, taken along with or shortly after the Parthadyarishtam. 3. Ksheerabala (101) Capsules Since he has Grade 1 Diastolic Dysfunction (stiffness), this medicated oil processed 101 times acts as a powerful Vata-pacifier to improve muscle flexibility. Dose: 1 capsule twice daily before food. Your question was… Is Ayurveda a “Cure”? In a 76-year-old with structural changes (enlarged chambers and leaky valves), Ayurveda is generally considered a supportive therapy rather than a “cure” that reverses anatomy. It is excellent for: Improving the quality of life and energy levels. Reducing the stiffness of the heart muscle. Managing the symptoms of lung pressure.

Hello, Your fathers case is actually more stable and manageable than it may sound from the medical terminology The most important reassuring points are -EF 59%-> heart pumping is preserved (good sign) -Creatinine 1.1 and eGFR 74-> kidney function is fairly preserved for age -SPO2 96%-> lungs are functioning well -Active energy levels-> very positive prognostic sign -No major shortness of breath/fatigue-> condition is currently compensated So this is not end stage heart disease What he has is mostly age related stiffness + mild pressure adaptation changes + diabetes related vascular aging His heart is still strong The issue is -the heart muscle has become slightly stiff with age so relaxation / filling is slower -this mildly increases pressure backward into lung circulation -over time the right side stretches mildly This is why -keeping lungs clear -avoidin fluid overload -protecting blood vessels -maintaining circulation Becomes very important Can Ayurveda cure this? Honest answer Ayurveda cannot realistically reverse all structural heart changes at age 76 But Ayurveda can often -improve heart efficiency -improve circulation -reduce progression -improve stamina and breathing reserve -support kidney and vascular health -reduce inflammation and metabolic stress And importantly -Ayurveda works best here as an integrative supportive system alongside modern medicines- not by suddenly stopping cardiac medications Especially because -he has diabetes -mild kidney protein leakage -low normal blood pressure This requires careful balance Very important warning Because his Bp is already 100/60 Do not use strong B- lowering Ayurvedic medicines casually -sarpagandha -high dose arjuna combination -aaggressive detox -strong diuretics These may worsens -dizziness -kidney perfusion -weakness Main treatment goals -improve heart relaxation gently -support circulation without lowering Bp excessively -protect kidneys and vessels in diabetes -keep lungs clear and open -reduce long term inflammation/degeneration -maintain energy and mobility Internal management 1) Heart and Vessel support -Arjunarishtam= 15ml with equal water twice daily after meals =supports heart muscle tone, improves circulation, mildly strengthens valves and vessels, generally safe without drastic Bp lowering 2) Diabetes + kidney protection -Nishamalaki tablets= 1 tab twice daily after meals =excellent for diabetes - related inflammatory damage , supports kidneys and metabolism gently 3) Mild fluid and lun channel support -Punarnavadi kashayam= 15ml with warm water twice daily after meals =supports fluid balance, protects kidneys, reduces subtle congestion tendency, helpful right heart strain If occassional mucus/congestion develops -Sitopaladi churna= 1/2 tsp with honey twice daily after meals =only if cough, mucus, congestion Because keeping lungs open is very important in his physiology External therapy Daily warm sesame oil foot massage =calms vata, improves circulation, supports sleep and nervous system, very useful in elderly cardiac patients Diet at this age= digestion preservation is more important than strict dieting Best ofoods -warm cooked meals -moong dal -lightly spiced soups -cooked vegetables -garlic in moderation -small amount of ghee -barley/oats in moderation Reduce -excessive salt -heavy fried foods -cold refrigerated meals -excessive sweets -large late dinners Lifestyle extremely important -gentle daily walking -regular movement -breathing exercises -sunlight exposure Avoid -prolonged bed rest -overeating -dehydration Best pranayam -Anulom vilom= very gentle only -Bhramari= excellent for heart relaxation Avoid -forceful kapalbhati -breath retention exercise Important Please continue regular follow up -Echocardiogram -kidney function test -Urine test -HbA1c -blood pressure -electrolytes Important about long term medicines His doctor is likely correct that -some medicines may need long term continuation In conditions like -diastolic dysfunction -diabetic vascular aging -valve degeneration Modern medicines are often preventing progression silently Ayurveda should support the terrain not abruptly replace stable therapy Your father’s current condition sounds -stable -compensated -manageable His strong energy and good oxygenation are excellent signs The best Ayurvedic stratergy here is -gentle strengthening and protection -not aggresive cleansing or attempts at dramatic reversal At age 76, preserving -function -stamina -kidney stability -lung clarity -quality of life is the real success Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
