Because your gallbladder was removed, your liver continuously drips bile into the small intestine rather than releasing it in concentrated bursts, making small, frequent, easily digestible meals essential. ​Foods to Favor (Healing & Cooling) ••​The Ultimate Healing Meal (White Rice & Moong Dal Khichdi): Well-cooked, mushy white rice combined with yellow moong dal is highly soothing to the colonic mucosa. It provides easily absorbable protein to combat malnutrition without straining the gut. Cook it with a pinch of turmeric and cumin. ••​Buttermilk (Takra): This is considered a maharsadha (great medicine) in Ayurveda for colitis, but it must be prepared correctly. Take fresh, homemade curd (not sour), churn it with 4 parts water, and remove the frothy fat layer from the top. Add a pinch of roasted cumin powder and rock salt (Saindhav lavan). Sip this during or right after your lunch. It acts as a natural probiotic and cools the gut. ••​Cooling Liquids: Coconut water (if easily accessible and budget-permitting) or water boiled with fennel seeds (Saunf) and cooled to room temperature will help soothe the burning sensation of GERD. ••​Easy-to-Digest Vegetables: Bottle gourd (Lauki), ridge gourd (Turai), ash gourd, and pumpkin. Eat a light dinner before 7:30 PM. Go to bed by 10:00 or 10:30 PM. Irregular routines drastically worsen anxiety and gut motility. ••​Mindful Eating: Sit down in a quiet place to eat. Avoid using your phone, studying, or discussing stressful topics while eating.
