According to Ayurveda, Grade 2 Fatty Liver is commonly associated with an imbalance of Kapha Dosha, accumulation of Meda Dhatu (fat tissue), weakened Agni (digestive fire), and formation of Ama (metabolic toxins). The primary goal of treatment is to improve liver metabolism, reduce fat accumulation, enhance digestion, and support healthy weight management. Ayurvedic Recommendations 1. Dietary Modifications Avoid: Fried and oily foods Fast foods and processed snacks Excess sugar, sweets, soft drinks, and bakery products Refined flour (maida) Excessive dairy products Heavy dinner and late-night eating Prefer: Warm, freshly cooked meals Green leafy vegetables Bottle gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, pumpkin Whole grains like barley, millet, and oats Moong dal and light soups Amla, turmeric, ginger, and cumin in daily diet Plenty of warm water throughout the day 2. Weight Reduction Your BMI is approximately 26.8, indicating overweight status. Even a 5–10% reduction in body weight can significantly improve fatty liver. Aim to lose: 0.5–1 kg per month steadily Avoid crash dieting 3. Physical Activity Since you have a desk job: Brisk walking for 45 minutes daily Yoga for 20–30 minutes Practice: Surya Namaskar Bhujangasana Ardha Matsyendrasana Pavanamuktasana Kapalabhati (if medically suitable) Anulom Vilom 4. Stress Management High stress can worsen digestion and liver function. Practice: Meditation for 15–20 minutes daily Deep breathing exercises Adequate sleep (7–8 hours) Avoid excessive screen exposure at night Rx 1. Aarogyavardhni vati - 2 tab twice a day after meal 2.Bhumyamalaki churna - 1/2 tsp twice a day 3. Punarnava mandoor - 2 tab twice a day after meal 4. Kalmeghasav - 15 ml twice a day Liv-supportive Ayurvedic formulations containing Kutki, Bhringaraj, and Guduchi These herbs help improve liver function, support fat metabolism, and reduce toxin accumulation. For Abdominal Discomfort Drink warm water after meals. Take a small piece of fresh ginger with a pinch of rock salt before meals. Avoid overeating and lying down immediately after food.
