Doctors' responses

Your symptoms suggest chronic digestive weakness (Agnimandya), possible post-infectious gut disturbance, low energy, and stress-related aggravation. Since these symptoms have persisted for months, it is also important to rule out anemia, thyroid disorders, vitamin B12 deficiency, vitamin D deficiency, and chronic infections through medical evaluation. Take • Avipattikar Churna – 3 g at bedtime with lukewarm water for acidity and digestion. • Draksharishta – 15 ml with equal water after lunch and dinner. • Chitrakadi Vati – 1 tablet twice daily before meals. • Ashwagandha Churna – 3 g with warm milk at night for weakness, fatigue, and anxiety. Diet: • Eat light, freshly cooked meals. • Avoid fried foods, excess tea/coffee, cold drinks, and packaged foods. • Take small frequent meals. • Include rice gruel, moong dal, pomegranate, and buttermilk with roasted cumin. If dizziness, low blood pressure, weight loss, persistent loose stools, or severe fatigue continue, get CBC, TSH, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and blood sugar tests and consult a physician.

●Welcome back, and thank you for sharing your journey with me. It sounds like your system went through a massive shock last year. The combination of high-altitude stress, a feverish illness, and the subsequent aggressive antibiotic treatment for your mild infection severely disrupted your Agni (digestive fire) and triggered colitis. In Ayurveda, when the gut ecology is wiped out, it creates a cascade effect: your digestion suffers, toxins (Ama) accumulate, and this directly destabilizes your Prana (vital energy) and mind. Your current symptoms—the constant fatigue, dizziness, heavy eyes, and anxiety—are classic signs of a deep-seated Vata-Pitta imbalance rooted entirely in a compromised, sensitive digestive tract. ●To heal, we must first cool the inflamed lining of your stomach and rebuild your digestive fire without aggravating it. The classic combination of Asparagus powder (Shatavari) and Conch Shell Ash (Shankha Bhasma) is highly effective here. Take one teaspoon of Asparagus powder mixed with a tiny pinch of Conch Shell Ash together with a little lukewarm water twice a day. Committing to this for about two weeks will act as a soothing balm, actively calming the sharp Pitta bile, binding loose stools, and cooling the acidity that is draining your physical strength. ●In tandem with this, we need to coat your gastrointestinal tract to heal the lingering raw sensitivity left behind by the colitis. For this, Licorice (Yashthimadhu) and Mishri (Rock Sugar) work beautifully together. Mix one teaspoon of Licorice powder with a half-teaspoon of Mishri powder, and consume it with lukewarm water or a little warm milk one to two times a day. This remedy is legendary in Ayurveda for reducing acute stomach irritation, soothing the throat, and restoring a healthy mucosal lining to aid proper nutrient absorption, which will directly combat your weakness and low energy. ●Of course, herbal remedies only do half the work if we do not alter the environment causing the flare-ups. You must strictly follow a few simple rules to reduce acidity and balance your Pitta. Ensure you eat your meals at the exact same times every day, and strictly limit spicy, fermented, and fried foods. Never lie down immediately after eating; instead, sit comfortably or take a gentle stroll. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, and keep your dinners incredibly light and easy to digest. Even these small everyday rules contribute greatly to balancing Pitta and stopping the formation of gas and bloating. ●Finally, we must address the connection between your gut and your brain—the root of your anxiety, heavy eyes, and brain fog. When the gut is weak, Vata dosha shoots upward, destabilizing the nervous system. To counter this, I want you to prepare a ▪︎Tranquillity Tea using equal quantities of Jatamansi, Brahmi, and Shankhapushpi. Add a 1-teaspoon of this blended herbal mixture to one cup of boiling water, cover it, and let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes before straining. Drinking this warm tea about one hour before bedtime will profoundly calm your mind, ground the scattered Vata energy, improve your sleep quality, and clear away that daily mental exhaustion. ●Alsactil Tablet - 1 tablet twice a day down stomach ●Abhyarishta - 2 teaspoons with warm water three times a day after meals ●Gandharvahastadi Arandi Oil - Mix with food ●Dadimashtak Churna - 2 teaspoons twice a day after meals ●How have your bowel movements been over the last week, and do you notice your symptoms worsening at any specific time of day?

Your symptoms together — post-fever weakness, antibiotic history, colitis/loose stools, bloating, low appetite, brain fog, anxiety, dizziness, and low BP tendency — strongly suggest an Ayurvedic pattern of: Ayurvedic understanding This looks like a combination of: Agnimandya (weak digestive fire) Vata aggravation (due to antibiotics, gut irritation, stress, poor absorption) Mild Pitta disturbance (post-colitis gut inflammation) Result: “Rasa-kshaya” (poor nutrition absorption → fatigue, brain fog, weakness) In simple terms: Your digestion and gut lining haven’t fully recovered after infection + antibiotics, so your body is not absorbing nutrition properly → leading to systemic fatigue, anxiety, and low energy. Ayurvedic Treatment Approach 1) First Goal: Repair digestion (Agni Deepan + Gut healing) Morning (empty stomach) Warm water + 1 tsp soaked raisins OR 2 soaked almonds Optional: add 1 tsp ginger juice + honey (if no acidity flare) Main digestive medicine (choose one approach) Trikatu churna (very small dose: 1/4 tsp) with honey after lunch OR Hingvastak churna (1/4 tsp after meals) for gas + bloating These improve digestion, reduce gas, and strengthen metabolism. 2) Gut healing after antibiotics (very important) Best Ayurvedic combination: Triphala (½ tsp at night with warm water) → cleans gut, improves bowel consistency, removes toxins gently Buttermilk therapy (Takra) Fresh diluted buttermilk + roasted cumin + pinch of rock salt Take at lunch time → restores gut bacteria naturally (very important after antibiotics) 3) For fatigue, weakness, brain fog (Rasa + Ojas support) Daily tonic (choose one): Ashwagandha powder 1–2 g at night with warm milk OR Ashwagandha capsule 1 after dinner Additional support: Shatavari (if anxiety + weakness prominent) Brahmi (morning) for brain fog and anxiety 4) Diet correction (this is key for recovery) Eat: Khichdi (rice + moong dal + ghee) Warm soups Steamed vegetables Banana, stewed apple Rice water (very healing for gut) Avoid strictly: Cold water / cold drinks Raw salads (temporarily) Fried food, fast food Excess tea/coffee Fermented spicy food (can worsen colitis tendency) 5) For anxiety + dizziness + low BP tendency This combination suggests Vata dominance Helpful practices: 5–10 min slow breathing (Anulom Vilom) Warm oil massage (sesame oil Abhyanga) 3–4 times/week Sleep on time Simple herbal support: Jatamansi (very good for anxiety + brain fog) Brahmi 6) Simple daily routine (important) Morning Warm water Light breakfast (porridge / khichdi) Lunch (main meal) Khichdi + ghee + buttermilk Evening Light snack only (banana / soup) Night Triphala + warm milk with Ashwagandha

••Hello. First of all, I hear you, and I can completely understand how frustrating and exhausting it must be to deal with this complex web of symptoms for months. It takes a heavy toll on your quality of life when your energy, digestion, and mental clarity all feel compromised at once. ••The heavy antibiotics you took for the respiratory infection cleared the pathogens, but they likely disrupted your gut microbiome (leading to the colitis). In Ayurveda, this sequence heavily compromises your Agni (digestive fire), specifically leading to a state of Manda Agni (weakened digestion) and Grahani Dosha (malabsorption syndrome/IBS-like state). ••Here is a comprehensive Ayurvedic approach to help restore your Agni, eliminate Ama, and rebuild your strength. 1. Deepana & Pachana (Igniting the Fire & Digesting Toxins) Before you can take heavy tonics to fix the weakness, we must fix the digestion, or else the tonics will just create more bloating. ••Mustakarishta: This is an excellent classical fermented preparation specifically targeted for Grahani (malabsorption) and loose stools. It improves appetite, absorbs excess moisture in the colon, and regulates bowel movements. •Dosage: 15–20 ml with an equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice a day, about 20 minutes after meals. ••Chitrakadi Vati or Sanjivani Vati: These are powerful Ama-pachana (toxin-digesting) tablets. They contain carminative herbs that directly kindle Manda Agni and reduce gas and bloating. •Dosage: 1 tablet twice a day, crushed and taken with warm water before meals. 2. Sangrahi & Gut-Healing (Managing Colitis History & Loose Stools) To heal the gut lining that was inflamed during colitis and restore proper stool consistency: ••Kutajghan Vati: Kutaja is the premier Ayurvedic herb for stabilizing the bowel lining and managing semi-solid or loose stools without causing acute constipation. •Dosage: 1–2 tablets twice a day after meals with warm water. ••Takra Dhara / Buttermilk Therapy: In Grahani, Takra (properly prepared buttermilk) is considered nectar. Take fresh, churned curd, dilute it with water, remove the froth/fat, and add a pinch of roasted cumin (Jeera) powder, rock salt (Saindhava Lavana), and a touch of ginger powder. Drink this with your lunch. It acts as a natural, highly bioavailable probiotic. 3. Rebuilding Vitality & Managing Vata (Fatigue & Brain Fog) Once your bowel movements begin to stabilize (stools become more formed) and bloating decreases, you can introduce mild Rasayanas (rejuvenators) that won’t overload your stomach. ••Ashwagandharishta: Since your blood pressure is on the lower side (100/70 mmHg}) and you are experiencing anxiety, dizziness, and low energy, this formulation will help soothe the nervous system, elevate energy levels, and gently support circulation. •Dosage: 15 ml mixed with 15 ml water, taken alongside or mixed with your Mustakarishta post-meals. ••Drakshasava: Highly beneficial for Aruchi (loss of appetite), general weakness, and mild anemia or low vitality which might be causing the heavy eyes and unfocused vision. 4. Dietary & Lifestyle Guidelines (Ahara & Vihara) ••The Golden Rule: Eat only when you feel a genuine hunger. Eating out of habit when the previous meal hasn’t digested will generate more Ama. ••What to Eat: Focus on Laghu (light) and Deepana (appetizing) foods. Moong dal khichdi cooked with a small amount of cow’s ghee, cumin, and turmeric. Pomegranate juice (acts as a natural astringent for the bowels and improves taste/appetite). Warm, well-cooked vegetables (bottle gourd, ridge gourd, pumpkin). Avoid raw salads, as they heavily aggravate Vata and cause gas. ••Water Consumption: Drink only lukewarm water throughout the day. You can boil water with a few fennel seeds (Saunf) and ginger slices to drink routinely; this continuously cleanses the digestive tract. ••Rest: Your daytime sleepiness is a cry for cellular energy. Ensure you sleep by 10:00 PM to align with natural circadian rhythms, and practice 10 minutes of Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing) in the morning to combat brain fog and oxygenate the system.
