Consulting the ayuevedic pediatric specialist for better examination and treatment
At 5 days old, crying with tummy sounds is often due to normal newborn gas/feeding adjustment, but the key concern here is “feeding less frequently”, which should be taken seriously. Make sure: Baby is feeding every 2–3 hours (including night) Proper latch if breastfeeding Burp after every feed Gentle care: Keep baby upright on your shoulder after feeding Gentle tummy massage (clockwise, very light) Warmth to tummy (not hot) ⚠️ Avoid giving Bonisan or any medicine without pediatric advice at this age. If crying is continuous, feeding is poor, or urine output is low → see a pediatrician immediately. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Hello, A 5 day old baby crying continuously with tummy sounds and feeding less frequently should be assessed carefully, because newborns can become dehydrated or unwell quickly. Mild gas/colic can happen but at this age we must first make sure feeding and hydration are adequate Please contact your pediatrician urgently today if any of these are present -baby feeding poorly or refusing feeds -fewer wet diapers -fever or feeling cold -vomiting green or yellow -swollen hard abdomen -difficulty breathing -extreme sleepiness -continuous inconsolable crying About Bonisan Bonisan is traditionally used for infant digestion/gas, but for a 5 day old new born, it is safest to speak with a pediatrician before starting any herbal product, because newborn digestion is still very delicate At this age, many crying episodes are actually due to -feeding/lactating issues -swallowed air -hunger -reflux -overtiredeness -gas from improper burping Safe things you can try first 1) Feed more frequently -A 5 day old should usually feed very often If breastfeeding -check latch -feed on demand -avoid long gaps 2) Burping is very important After every feed -keep baby upright on shoulder -gently pat/rub back for 10-15 min 3) Gentle tummy comfort You may try -gentle clockwise tummy massage -holding knees softly toward tummy -skin to skin contact Tummy “Gruu” sounds Gurgling sounds alone are often just bowel movement/gas soundds, but if combined with -poor feeding -abdominal swelling -vomiting -or persistent crying then baby should be examined Mother can temporarily reduce -very spicy food -excess caffeine -gas forming heavy foods if they seem to worsen symptoms Stay hydrated Avoid -honey -gripe water without pediatric advice -strong remedies -oils by mouth in newborn A little gas can be normal in newborns Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
