Onion with Warm Milk Traditionally, onion is eaten first, then warm milk is taken. Not only milk — usually both are taken together in this remedy. If it’s advisable to you for specific purpose then take both onion and warm milk together, not milk alone - but alcohol - Not recommended on the same day, especially close together. Why: Onion + milk can already be heavy on digestion Alcohol irritates the stomach lining Together, they may cause acidity, nausea, bloating, or reflux If alcohol is unavoidable: Keep a gap of at least 4–6 hours Drink in moderation Avoid spicy or heavy food alongside alcohol

Hello Lots od people ask if they should have onions with warm milk or just milk, and if they can drink alcohol afterward. Ayurvedic View Onion (Palandu) –Makes heat –Calms Vata and Kapha –Boosts sexual power –Gets your blood moving and wakes up your nerves Milk (Dugdha) – –Cools you down –Builds Ojas (vital energy) –Soothes Pitta –Renews you So, onion + milk is a good mix: Onion’s heat gets balanced by the milk → makes a tonic. Need Onions, or Just Milk? 👉 You need the onion! Just milk won’t give you the desired results (like better libido, stamina, and nerve strength). How to do it right: 1 small onion (grated or juiced) 1 glass of warm milk Mix the onion juice into the milk and drink it Do this before bed Can You Drink Alcohol After? No way! In Ayurveda: Onion + milk → gives power to your body to make semen and Ojas. Alcohol → Burns up/ruins that Ojas. Drinking alcohol can: Make the milk curdle in your stomach Cause gas, acidity, burning feelings, headaches Kill the onion’s aphrodisiac effect Put extra stress on your liver and nerves This combo: Onion + milk → builds things up Alcohol → breaks things down 👉 They cancel each other out 🔥 If You Usually Feel Hot People who get: –Burning heads –Hot scalps –Acidity –Flushed faces Should: 👉 Use less onion 👉 Milk should be a bit more cooling So: 1–2 tsp onion juice + a full glass of milk is enough Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

In Ayurveda, onion with warm milk is not a common or recommended combination. Traditionally, onion is considered ushna (heating) and milk is sheeta (cooling) — mixing them can sometimes disturb digestion. If someone is advised to take “onion with milk,” usually the milk is the main carrier (anupana), and onion is not taken separately in large amounts. Key Points - Onion + Milk: Not a standard Ayurvedic pairing; may cause heaviness or indigestion in some people. - Better practice: If prescribed, usually a small amount of onion juice is mixed into warm milk, not eaten raw onion alongside. - Alcohol after milk: Ayurveda strongly discourages combining alcohol with milk or immediately after milk intake, as it can aggravate ama (toxins), disturb digestion, and worsen pitta imbalance. Safer Approach - If you’re taking warm milk for health, keep it simple — avoid mixing with onion unless specifically directed by a vaidya. - Do not consume alcohol right after milk; allow several hours gap if you drink occasionally.

Traditional Ayurvedic remedy (onion boiled in milk) is taken with the onion pieces , do not strain and drink only milk. The onion itself is the main active part (anti-inflammatory, expectorant, helps cough/cold, congestion). So yes ,eat the cooked onion along with the warm milk. ✓After drinking onion-milk, can you take alcohol? No – avoid alcohol same day. ✓Reasons Onion + milk is heating & heavy on digestion and alcohol on top causes severe acidity, bloating, nausea, headache or hangover-like symptoms. Combination strongly aggravates Pitta → burning sensation, acid reflux, irritability. If taken frequently , can harm liver & stomach lining. ✓Safest way Take onion-milk early morning or afternoon on empty stomach. If you drink alcohol , do it in night or next day Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma

HELLO, FROM BOTH MODERN MEDICAL AND AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE, 1) ONION WITH WARM MILK In Ayurveda, warm milk is considered -nourishing -cooling (after digestion) -good for strength and sleep Onion is considered -heating -heavy to digest -sometimes increases pitta and kapha Mixing raw onion with milk is generally not recommended in Ayurveda because -it can disturb digestion -may cause bloating, gas or heaviness -It is considered a viruddha ahara" (incompatible food combination ) by If someone is taking milk for strength or as a remedy, it is usually taken alone, not mixed with onion 2) CAN YOU DRINK ALCOHOL AFTER MILK? From a medical point of view -there is no dangerous chemical reaction between milk and alcohol -however, alcohol irritates the stomach -milk may temporarily coat the stomach but does not prevent alcohol effects From an Ayurvedic view, -alcohol increases pitta -milk reduces pitta -taking both close together may disturb digestion and liver function -Ayurvea generally advises not mixing milk and alcohol closely in time PRACTICAL ADVICE -If drinking alcohol , avoid heavy combinations like onion + milk before it -do not mix milk and alcohol together -keep at least 2-3 hours gap between milk and alcohol -eat light before alcohol to reduce stomach irritation IMPORTANT If person has -acidity -gastritis -liver problems -IBS or weak digestion They should avoid such combination DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR. According to Ayurveda having warm milk and onion , alcohol, is wrong food combination, and would lead to other health problems. Milk should be taken alone as wrong combination will cause skin , problems, indigestion, and other health problems.
