- High ASO indicates recent streptococcal throat infection. Severe joint pain after a throat infection mainly indicates to Rheumatic fever. RF can affect cardiac valves, so get an echo. Rheumatic fever follows 2-3 weeks after an attack of streptococcal pharyngitis. 1. Amritottaram kashayam 15ml + 45ml lukewarm water twice daily before food. 2. Vettumaran gulika 1-01 wth some ginger juice after food. Took these medicines for 2 weeks. Strict bed rest till ESR comes to normal.
