Hydrocephalus is a condition where excess fluid collects inside the brain and this is a structural issue so Ayurvedic medicine cannot physically drain or remove that fluid However Ayurveda can help by strengthening the nervous system supporting brain tissue reducing subtle inflammation and balancing aggravated Vata and Kapha which are usually involved in such conditions Since you have had this diagnosis for more than one year and currently have no symptoms it may be stable but regular follow up with a neurologist and periodic scans are very important If you choose Ayurvedic support it usually takes at least three to six months to see supportive improvement and sometimes longer for deeper tissue nourishment Herbs like Brahmi Ashwagandha Mandukaparni and certain medicated ghee preparations are commonly used under supervision If at any time you develop headache vomiting vision disturbance imbalance while walking or confusion you should seek immediate medical care because those can be warning signs Ayurveda can be supportive but it should always be combined with proper medical monitoring in conditions like this

Ayurvedic medicine cannot cure completely hydrocephalus. There are herbs help strengthen brain cells, nerves, and give strength You have to continue with allopathic medicine and parallely take ayurvedic medicine also for good results Take Brahmi vati 1-0-1 after food with water Ashwagandha churan 0-0-1tsp at bedtime with warm milk. Gokshura tablet 2-0-0 after food with water.

Hydrocephalus is a serious neurological condition (excess cerebrospinal fluid in the brain). It is not something that Ayurvedic herbs alone can cure. In modern medicine, treatment usually requires Monitoring by a neurologist Sometimes shunt surgery or other procedures Ayurveda can only play a supportive role, not a replacement

Hello I get what you’re saying about hydrocephalus. It’s a tough thing to deal with, and many get worried about what might happen. Ayurveda can be a source of support and keep things steady if you stick with it. How Ayurveda Sees Hydrocephalus Basically, it’s like this: –Too much fluid builds up in the brain. –The energy flow gets blocked. –This causes pressure, makes you feel dull, weak, or have other nerve-related stuff going on. –Even if you feel okay now, that blockage is still there, so we need to get it under control. How Long Does Treatment Take? This isn’t a quick fix. It’s a long-term thing. Ayurveda doesn’t just drain the fluid overnight. Instead, it: –Helps your body absorb fluid better. –Slows down fluid production. –Opens up those blocked pathways in your brain. –Makes your brain tissues stronger. You’ll need long-term treatment with herbal remedies, not just a short course. What We’ll Do Since you’re not having symptoms, the goal is to: Keep things from getting worse + get your fluid balance back to normal Watch how much fluid you’re taking in through your diet. What to Keep an Eye On Even with Ayurveda, you should still get: –Brain scans every 6–12 months –Eye pressure and vision checks –Keep track of headaches, balance, and memory –Ayurveda works best when you keep track of what’s going on. What to Eat and Do AVOID –Too much water –Cold drinks –Yogurt at night –Pastries, cheese –Sleeping during the day Eat and do more of: –Warm foods –Light meals –Spices like ginger and pepper –Early dinners –Daily walks –These things directly affect fluid levels in your brain. Ayurveda can’t promise to get rid of existing fluid buildup, but it can: –Keep things from getting worse –Reduce the need for surgery –Help your brain handle things better –Protect your nerves and memory If you don’t have symptoms, Ayurveda can be just a supportive treatment you have to follow up with your neurologist regularly Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

HELLO, Hydrocephalus is a serious neurological condition involving excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain. In modern medicine, the standard are often life-saving treatment is neurosurgical management (usually a shunt or endoscopic third ventriculostomy) It’s important to understand this first before considering Ayurvedic support. Since you mentioed -diagnosed more than 1 yearago -no current symptoms -no previous treatment -that makes the situation very different from someone with active or progressive hydrocephalus CAN AYURVEDIC TREATMENT CURE HYDOCEPHALUS? There is no scientific evidence that Ayurveda can reverse established hydrocephalus or remove accumulated CSF. If there is a structural blockage or impaired absorption, herbs alone cannot physically correct that. However, Ayurveda may be used as -supportive therapy -for improving neurological strength -for reducing associated symptoms -headache, weakness, cognitive dullness -for general brain nourishment HOW LONG WOULD AYURVEDIC TREATMENT TAKE? If used as supportive management, improvement (if any) usually takes -3-6 months for noticeable neurological strengthening -6-12 months for sustained supportive benefit But this is symptom- based improvement, not reversal of ventricular enlargement If you are completely asymptomatic, Ayurveda would function more as a preventive/strengthening therapy, not a curative one In Ayurveda, hydrocephalus may be correlated loosely with -shiroroga -vata imbalance -kapha accumulation INTERNAL MEDICATION 1) BRAHMI VATI= 1 tab at bedtime- cognitive suppot 2) SHANKHAUSHPI SYRUP= 1 tsp twice daily after meals =nervous system calming 3) ASHWAGANDHA CHRUNA= 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime =neuroprotective support 4) KALYANAK GHRITA= 1/2 tsp with warm milk in morning NOTE= these do not drain CSF. they support brain function HAVE YOU DONE -A recent MRI -Ventricular size monitoring -Neurosurgeon evaluation If hydrocephalus is stable and non-progressive, conservative monitoring is sometimes done- but this decision must come from neurologist If you truly have hydrocephalus confirmed on imagine and have never had neurosurgical evaluation, that should be your first step. Ayurveda can be supportive- not primary treatment for structural CSF accumulation DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

Hydrocephalus is a structural/pressure issue inside the skull. No herb, churna, kwath, ghrita or Panchakarma has scientific or consistent Ayurvedic evidence showing it reduces ventricle size, improves CSF absorption or replaces the need for a shunt in adults/children with chronic hydrocephalus. Herbs may give mild supportive relief for associated symptoms (headache, nausea, vision issues if present), but cannot drain fluid or reverse the condition. ✓Ayurveda can Reduce mild inflammation/pressure sensation Support brain/nerve health Improve overall vitality ✓Supportive herbs Brahmi Ghrita – 5 gm morning with warm water Shankhpushpi Churna – 1–2 gm twice daily with water Mandukaparni Churna – 1–2 gm twice daily Jatamansi Churna – 250–500 mg night (if anxiety/head heaviness present) ✓Consult neurosurgeon/neurologist immediately (even if asymptomatic) Repeat MRI/CT brain + fundoscopy (check optic disc for papilledema) Measure head circumference if child Discuss shunt surgery (VP shunt) or ETV (endoscopic third ventriculostomy) if ventricles are enlarging or pressure is high ✓Do not rely on herbs to shrink hydrocephalus – delaying proper treatment risks permanent brain damage, vision loss or cognitive decline.
