Hello So, for the past few months, you’ve had Costochondritis, causing some pain in your chest, mainly on the left side. I get why it’s worrying you since it’s chest pain, and that’s always a bit scary. and you are not taking any meds for now. Okay, so Costochondritis is basically inflammation where your ribs meet your breastbone. In Ayurveda, we’d call it Asthi-Majja gata Vata with Pitta It usually happens because of things like: – Straining yourself or having bad posture – Sitting too much or being on your phone all the time – Stress – Not enough moisture/blood flow to your joints And that leads to: – Pain – Tenderness – Stiffness – A burning feeling Basically, we want to: – Calm down the inflammation – Balance Vata and Pitta – Get your blood flowing better – Help those rib joints heal – Keep it from coming back TREATMENT PLAN INTERNAL MEDICATION 1. Yograj Guggulu – 2 tablets, twice a day 2 Dashmoolaristha – 20 ml, twice a day 3. Shallaki (Boswellia) capsules – 500 mg, twice a day 4 Gandharvahastadi Kashayam – 15 ml at night (to keep Vata in check) These should help with the inflammation and healing the cartilage. What to do: – Massage your chest with warm Mahanarayan Taila – Follow it up with a hot water compress – Stay warm and avoid getting chilled HONE REMEDIES –Turmeric with warm milk at night – Ginger tea – Don’t lift anything too heavy What to eat: Eat: – Ghee – Milk – Rice – Vegetable soups – Moong dal Avoid: – Cold foods – Dry foods – Bakery stuff – Caffeine How to live: – Stand up straight – Don’t slouch – Do some gentle stretches – Avoid sudden movements – Get enough sleep The good news is, Costochondritis can get better. With this plan, you should feel a difference in your chest pain in about a month or two. Wishing you all the best! Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Costochondritis usually involves inflammation of the rib joints, so the focus is on reducing inflammation and supporting gentle mobility. Helpful measures: • Avoid heavy lifting or sudden strain on the chest area • Gentle stretching and posture correction, especially if you sit long hours • Warm compress or local warm oil application can help reduce stiffness • Prefer warm, anti-inflammatory diet and avoid very cold or processed foods Supportive Ayurvedic options like Simhanada guggulu or Dashmool-based preparations may be useful in suitable cases, but should be chosen individually. Since pain has lasted for 3 months, a proper consultation is recommended to confirm the diagnosis and create a structured treatment plan.

HELLO, Costochondritis (inflammation of the costochondral joints where ribs meet the sternum ) corresponds in Ayurveda mainly to Urah shoola (chest pain) and often involves Vata-pitta imbalance affecting the chest region, along with localised inflammation in Asthi and Mamsa dhatu. Since your pain is moderate, mid-chest and left-sided, ongoing for 3 months, and without other symptoms, this suggests a chronic vata aggravation with inflammatory component AYURVEDIC VIEW PROBABLE DOSHA INVOLVEMENT -VATA- pain, tenderness, chronicity -PITTA- inflammation, burning sensation INTERAL MANAGEMENT FOR REDUCING INFLAMMATION AND PAIN 1) SIMHANADA GUGGULU= 1 tab twice daily after meals =Reduces Vata and inflammation 2) YOGARAJ GUGGULU= 1 tab twice dail after meals =excellent for chronic vata pain in joints and ribs 3) DASHMOOLA KASHAYA= 20 ml with equal warm water twice daily before meals =Reduces Vata and deep inflammation 4) IF BURNING SENSATION PRESENT -PRAVAL PISHTI= 125 mg twice dialy with honey after meals -GUDUCHI SATVA= 500mg twice dialy with warm water after meals EXTERNAL THERAPIES A) LOCAL OIL APPLICATION Daily application over painful chest area -MAHANARAYAN TAIA apply warm oil -> gentle massage 5-7 min 2) HOT FOMENTATION After oil application -mild hot fomentation with towel -or warm sand pouch Avoid very intense heat 3) HERBAL PASTE If tenderness persists -dry ginger powder + castor oil paste apply for 20-30 min daily DIET -warm, cooked meals -moong dal -ghee small amount daily -turmeric milk at night -garlic if. no acidity -sesame seeds -warm water AVOID -cold drinks -refriegerated food -sour, fermented food -excess tea/coffee -dry foods- chips, popcorn -excess fasting LIFESTYLE AVOID -sudden twisting movements -heavy lifting -excess stress -late nights INCLUDE -gentle stretching -pranayam- anulom vilom -warm baths -7-8 hours sleep HOME REMEDIES -turmeric + ghee in warm milk = at night -castor oil 5-10 drops in warm milk once weekly at bedtime EXPECTED RECOVERY TIME -Mild relief= 2-3 weeks -Significant improvement= 6-8 weeks -full correction of chronic tendency= 2-3 months DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU
