Is There a Permanent Cure for Rheumatoid Arthritis in Ayurveda? Short answer: 👉 Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease. 👉 In modern medicine, it is considered chronic (long-term). 👉 Ayurveda does not claim an instant permanent cure, but it can control, slow progression, reduce inflammation, and improve quality of life significantly — especially when started early (like in your case: less than 1 year 👈 this is very important). Since symptoms are moderate and within 1 year, this is a good stage for management. 🔬 Understanding RA in Ayurveda In Ayurveda, RA is similar to Aamavata. It involves: Aama (toxins due to weak digestion) Vata imbalance Joint inflammation Morning stiffness Swelling & pain So treatment focuses on: Removing Aama Reducing inflammation Correcting digestion Preventing joint damage 🌿 Ayurvedic Approach for RA 1️⃣ Internal Medicines (Example approach – must be prescribed properly) Simhanada Guggulu Mahayograj Guggulu Rasna Saptak Kwath Dashmool Amrita (Giloy) Erand (castor-based formulations) ⚠ Always under supervision. Not self-medication. 2️⃣ Panchakarma (Very Important) Depending on stage: Virechana Basti (most important for Vata) Local Janu Basti / Kati Basti Ruksha Swedana in early Aama stage Panchakarma gives deeper, longer-lasting results. 3️⃣ Diet Is 50% Treatment Avoid: ❌ Curd ❌ Cold water ❌ Fermented food ❌ Heavy fried food ❌ Excess paneer ❌ Bakery items Take: ✔ Warm water ✔ Ginger + Ajwain ✔ Light khichdi ✔ Garlic in moderation ✔ Methi seeds soaked 💊 About Allopathy Limited Benefit RA medicines in allopathy: Reduce inflammation Suppress immune system Prevent joint damage But: They don’t “cure” Symptoms return if stopped Important: ⚠ Do NOT suddenly stop allopathy medicines. Ayurveda can be integrated gradually.
