Doctors' responses
Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Your pain and stiffness from degenerative disc disease suggest an imbalance in Vata dosha, which governs movement and stability. Vata imbalances often lead to dryness and rigidity in the body, manifesting as joint and disc issues. This can also cause the vertigo you’re experiencing, as Vata is responsible for balance and coordination.
The vertigo, especially noticeable after waking, indicates a potential accumulation of Kapha dosha, which can cause heaviness and congestion, affecting your inner ear and balance.
For diabetes, the fluctuating blood sugar levels you mentioned suggest a Pitta imbalance, as Pitta governs metabolism and transformation in the body. The use of Diabecon is an Ayurvedic approach to managing blood sugar, but monitoring and potentially integrating other treatments should be discussed with a healthcare provider.
Ayurveda sees these symptoms as interconnected through systemic imbalances, not isolated issues. Addressing digestion, routine, stress, and internal balance is crucial.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible.
1. How long have you been experiencing pain and stiffness? Please choose from: Less than 1 week, 1-4 weeks, 1-6 months, or More than 6 months. 2. How would you rate the severity of your pain? Is it mild, moderate, severe, or very severe? 3. Have you noticed any specific movements that worsen your pain, such as bending, lifting, or sitting for long periods? 4. How often do you experience vertigo? Is it daily, multiple times a day, or occasionally? 5. Have you noticed any patterns or triggers for your vertigo, such as after waking up, physical activity, or stress? 6. How is your appetite and digestion? Do you experience frequent indigestion or occasional issues? 7. What is your current diet like? Is it balanced, high in carbohydrates, or high in sugars?
Your detailed responses will help in crafting a more tailored Ayurvedic treatment plan.
