After menopause, changes in hormones, especially reduced estrogen, can lead to fat accumulation in the arms and musculoskeletal pain, often accompanied by stiffness and weakness. In Ayurvedic terms, this reflects a Vata-Pitta imbalance affecting muscles and joints, leading to fat deposition and pain. Treatment focuses on reducing fat accumulation, strengthening muscles, and calming Vata. Apply Mahanarayan Oil or Dhanwantharam Oil with gentle massage to arms and shoulders daily to improve circulation and reduce stiffness. Take Ashwagandha Churna ½–1 tsp with warm milk twice daily to support muscle strength and reduce fatigue. Include light resistance exercises and yoga for arms and shoulders, like gentle stretching, wall push-ups, or arm lifts, to tone muscles without overstraining. Diet should be warm, nourishing, and Vata-Pitta balancing, including ghee, cooked vegetables, legumes, and mild spices like turmeric and cumin. Avoid cold, dry foods and excessive processed sugar. With consistent care, arm pain gradually reduces over 3–4 weeks, and muscle tone improves, helping reduce localized fat over time.
