It’s good you’re already walking and exercising—those habits will make a big difference. With menopause + hypothyroidism, weight loss is absolutely possible, but it tends to be slower and requires a more structured approach. –Hypothyroidism slows metabolism → fewer calories burned Menopause reduces estrogen → more fat storage (especially around belly) Muscle mass naturally decreases → further slows metabolism So your plan should focus on: preserving/building muscle, stabilizing hormones, controlling calories without starving. —Weekly plan: Walking: 30–45 mins daily (try brisk pace) Strength training (VERY important): 3x/week Squats (chair squats) Wall push-ups Light dumbbells or water bottles Stretching / yoga: 2–3x/week (helps hormones + stress) - Muscle building = faster metabolism —Medicines Kanchanar Guggulu – 2 tab BD after meals Triphala tab - 1 tab at night Medohar guguglu 1 tab twice daily after meal Shatavari Churna – 1 tsp at night with milk ----Diet Light, warm food (moong dal, millets, vegetables) Include ginger, garlic Avoid sugar, maida, curd at night ---- Advice Continue thyroid medicine Regular follow-up after 21 days

Managing weight with the combination of menopause, hypothyroidism, and Thalassemia Minor requires a gentle approach that balances hormonal health without overtaxing your energy levels. Since you are already on thyroid medication, the goal is to improve metabolism (Agni) and manage fluid retention. In Ayurveda, this condition is viewed as an imbalance of Kapha and Vata. Menopause is a Vata-dominant stage, while hypothyroidism causes a “slow fire” (Mandagni), leading to the accumulation of toxins (Ama) and medas-dhatu (fat tissue). Because of Thalassemia Minor, we must ensure that weight loss efforts do not lead to further fatigue or anemia. 1. Varunadi Kwath (Tablet/Liquid) This is a potent formulation for clearing “clogs” in the metabolic channels. It helps in reducing excess water retention and breaking down fatty tissues associated with thyroid sluggishness. Dose: 15ml liquid mixed with 45ml lukewarm water (or 2 tablets) twice daily, 30 minutes before food. 2. Kanchanar Guggulu Specifically targeted for glandular health, particularly the thyroid. It helps scrape away stagnant Kapha and supports the reduction of localized fat. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily after meals with warm water. 3. Dhanwantharam Kashayam To address the Vata imbalances of menopause (like joint aches or dryness) while supporting overall strength, which is vital since you have Thalassemia Minor. Dose: 15ml with 45ml warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. Lifestyle & Diet Tips Iron & Metabolism: Since you are Thalassemia Minor, focus on natural iron sources that don’t aggravate Kapha, like pomegranate, raisins, and blanched spinach. Warmth is Key: Drink warm water throughout the day to keep your basal metabolic rate (BMR) active. Movement: Continue your walking. For menopause, try adding 10 minutes of Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) to balance the endocrine system.
