Hello, At 63, a busy schedule often leads to “visceral fat” accumulation due to a slowing metabolic rate and prolonged sitting. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this is an imbalance of Medas Dhatu (fat tissue) and Agni (digestive fire). When your digestive fire is weak, food isn’t fully metabolized, turning into Ama (toxins) that settle in the abdominal region. ​ ​Ignite the Fire: Sip warm water throughout the day. It acts as a natural “scrub” for your internal systems and prevents Ama buildup. ​The 70% Rule: Eat only until your stomach is 70% full. At 63, the body requires fewer calories but higher nutrient density. ​Movement in Stasis: Since you are busy at work, try “stomach vacuuming” (Uddiyana Bandha) while sitting. Simply exhale completely and pull your navel in toward your spine, hold for 5–10 seconds, and release. Do this 10 times a day. Medicines : ​1. Varanadi Kwath (Tablet form) This is a premier formulation for “Kapha-Medas” (phlegm and fat) imbalances. It helps clear the channels and supports thyroid/metabolic function. ​Dose: 2 tablets twice daily, about 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner, with warm water. ​2. Gugguluthiktaka Ghritam (Capsule form) While it contains medicated ghee, in small doses it helps mobilize deep-seated toxins and balances the Vata that often increases with age. ​Dose: 1 capsule twice daily after food. ​3. Triphala Spark (Effervescent or Tablet) Essential for ensuring daily elimination, which is the first step in reducing belly bloating and size. ​Dose: 2 tablets (or 1 effervescent tablet) at bedtime with warm water.

At your age and with a busy schedule, the goal is steady fat reduction, not aggressive dieting. Belly fat is mainly due to slow metabolism + long sitting hours, so small consistent changes will give good results. Start with simple habits: Avoid long sitting — stand or walk for 5 minutes every hour. Increase water intake to at least 1.5–2 liters daily. Keep dinner light and before 8 pm. Reduce sugar, refined carbs, and excess fruits at night. Prefer simple home food, more vegetables, and good protein. Daily 20–30 min brisk walking is enough, no need for gym. At home, morning warm water with a pinch of jeera or lemon helps metabolism. After meals, a little ajwain can help digestion. Triphala tablet – 1–2 tablets at bedtime Medohar vati – 1 tablet twice daily before food This will help improve metabolism and reduce belly fat gradually.
