Can I take triphala with blood thinners and sleeping tablets? - #53602

Triphala can generally be taken, but in your case caution is needed because you are on Clopidogrel (blood thinner). Triphala may have mild blood-thinning and bowel-clearing effect, so taking it together can increase risk of bleeding in some cases. It is better to use it in low dose and not regularly without supervision. Sleeping tablets (benzodiazepines) do not have a direct major interaction with Triphala, but avoid taking them at the same time. Keep a gap of 2 hours between allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines. Regarding your second question, combining multiple medicines like telma, diuretics, and others should only be done as per your treating doctor. Do not add anything new without confirmation. Safer approach: Use Triphala only if really needed and in small dose. Triphala tablet – 1 tablet at bedtime occasionally (not daily) If you notice any bleeding (gums, stool, urine), stop immediately.
