Recurrent perianal abscess usually has a root cause — it is not just a surface infection. Most common reason: 👉 Hidden fistula (anal tract infection tunnel) After drainage, if the internal tract is still present, abscess comes back again and again (your pattern of 7–9 months strongly suggests this). What you should do (very important): 👉 Get evaluated for fistula-in-ano Tests: MRI fistulogram / specialist (proctologist) Without treating fistula, recurrence is very likely. Daily prevention (must follow): 1. Bowel control Avoid diarrhea (very important in your case) Keep stool soft but formed Avoid: Spicy, oily, junk, excess non-veg, alcohol Take: Simple diet, rice, moong dal, curd (if suits), plenty of water 2. Hygiene Warm sitz bath daily (not occasionally) Keep area clean and dry 3. Avoid pressure Do not sit long hours Avoid constipation/straining Ayurvedic support: Triphala churna – ½ tsp at bedtime (for bowel regulation) Gandhak rasayan – 1 tab twice daily Kaishore guggulu – 1 tab twice daily If fistula is confirmed: Best treatment is: 👉 Ksharasutra therapy (Ayurvedic) or surgery This treats the root tract, not just abscess Warning signs: Repeated swelling in same spot Pus discharge Pain before swelling These strongly indicate fistula. Bottom line: 👉 Recurrence = underlying tract not treated 👉 Focus on diagnosis + bowel control + hygiene If you want, I can guide you on choosing between Ksharasutra vs surgery based on your case.
