What is the Japanese equivalent of star anise and how to treat its side effects? - #54607
For star anise, the Japanese counterpart. Is there a specific way to solve it. I have searched multiple sites and I have yet to find a single drug, plant, metal, or even activated charcoal, which is surprisingly useful for this type of area. Yet I still have not found a single remedy. Is it a forever thing or do you just have to wait for the ill effects to wear off?

There is no specific antidote for toxicity from Japanese star anise. The body usually clears its effects naturally over time if the exposure is mild. Management is mainly rest, adequate fluids, and a light diet. If symptoms become severe such as vomiting, confusion, or seizures, immediate hospital care is required. It is not a permanent condition and recovery depends on the amount consumed and timely support
