How to treat palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis with Ayurveda? - #54873
How to deal with palmer and plantar hyperhidrosis. Can ayurveda really help me? My hands and feet sweat even during cold weather. And this sweat increases when i'm out in hot weather or i'm tensed. I got this problem at the age of 7-8. But at some other times my hands become absolutely dry, so much dry that even skin starts coming out from my palm. I have bloating issues, and i'm usually stressed.

Your condition can be understood in Ayurveda as a combination of Pitta + Vata imbalance with manas (stress) involvement. Excess sweating → aggravated Pitta (heat) + vata (instability of sweat glands) Sudden dryness, peeling → Vata aggravation Bloating → weak agni + ama formation Stress-triggered sweating → disturbance of Manovaha Srotas Management 1. Correct Agni & Gut Take light, warm, easy-to-digest food Use Triphala at night (mild detox + digestion) 2. Reduce Pitta & Stress Herbs like Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Ashwagandha (for mind calming) Practice Sheetali pranayama & meditation 3. Local Care Apply Chandan (sandalwood) or Lodhra powder paste on palms/soles Foot/hand soak in cool Triphala or neem water 4. Lifestyle Avoid spicy, oily, fermented foods Maintain regular sleep and stress control
Can these cure hyperhidrosis or just reduce it?
Hyperhidrosis (long-standing since childhood) is considered a chronic Dosha imbalance, so: It can be reduced and controlled Frequency, intensity, and triggers (like stress, heat) can improve
Any ayurvedic therapy which can cure it?
Takradhara (for stress-induced sweating) Abhyanga + Swedana (controlled) to regulate sweat glands
Yes, Ayurveda can help reduce palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis, especially when linked with stress, anxiety, gut imbalance, and Vata-Pitta aggravation. Since childhood onset is common in primary hyperhidrosis, improvement is usually gradual. Saraswatarishta 15 ml + equal water after lunch and dinner. Praval Pishti 125 mg twice daily with honey. Avipattikar Churna 1 tsp at night with warm water for bloating and Pitta balance. External: Dusting of sandalwood powder + rose water paste on palms/soles once daily. Coconut oil at night when excessive dryness/cracking occurs. Lifestyle: Avoid excess tea, coffee, spicy food. Practice sheetali pranayama and stress reduction. Maintain regular sleep.
