Hello, It’s important to understand that Livedoid Vasculopathy (LV) is a chronic condition involving micro-circulation and small blood clots in the skin. In a 7-year-old, this requires careful management alongside a pediatric specialist to prevent scarring or skin issues. ​ ​In Ayurveda, this condition is often correlated with Vatarakta or Vicharchika, involving an imbalance of Pitta (heat/inflammation) and Raktha (blood) aggravated by Vata (circulation). The goal is to purify the blood (Raktaprasadana) and improve the strength of the blood vessels. ​Causes in Children ​While modern medicine looks at coagulation factors, Ayurveda attributes the cause to ​Aama accumulation: Internal toxins affecting blood flow. ​Pitta-Raktha imbalance: Excess internal heat leading to skin discoloration. ​External Factors: Sensitivity to cold or minor trauma to the skin. ​ ​Yoga is an excellent supportive therapy rather than a primary “cure.” For a 7-year-old, yoga helps by: ​Improving Circulation: Gentle movements prevent blood stasis in the lower limbs. ​Reducing Stress: Since flare-ups can be triggered by stress, calming practices are beneficial. ​Recommended Poses: Gentle Viparita Karani (Legs-up-the-wall) for 5 minutes to assist venous return, and Pranayama (Sheetali or Anulom Vilom) to cool the Pitta in the body.
