I also read that starting the day with warm water is good for digestion and detoxification. Some people say adding lemon, honey, or jeera (cumin seeds) makes it even more effective. What is the best combination for boosting metabolism and gut health? Another important part of a healthy daily routine is exercise and yoga. Many sources say that practicing Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) in the morning helps with flexibility, weight loss, and mental peace. How long should a morning yoga session be for the best results? I also want to know the best meal schedule for a healthy lifestyle. Some Ayurvedic sources say that lunch should be the heaviest meal of the day, while dinner should be light and eaten before sunset. Waking up early, especially before sunrise during Brahma Muhurta, is indeed widely recommended in Ayurveda for clarity and energy. But it also depends on your prakriti (constitution), whether you’re Vata, Pitta, or Kapha dominant. If you’re a Kapha-type, waking up early can help shake off drowsiness, whereas a Vata person might need more rest. So listen to your bodys needs too.

About starting your day with warm water, yeah, it’s a great way to ignite agni (digestive fire). Adding lemon is good for Pitta types, jeera is excellent for digestion, and if you’re a Kapha, lemon and honey together is a nice combo. Just avoid consuming honey when it’s heated or in hot water to prevent ama (toxins) build up, according to Ayurveda.

Surya Namaskar is indeed beneficial. Aim for a session of 15-30 minutes, depending on your comfort level. Some days you might feel like doing more, some days less—go with the flow. It should feel energizing but not exhausting.

Meal times are critical. Making lunch the heaviest meal aligns with the time when digestive fire is strongest, while dinner, being light even before sunset if possible, supports healthier digestion and energy balance.
