Hello, Hand tremors and head sensations can be complex, often related to the nervous system’s signaling or muscle control. In clinical terms, tremors that occur specifically when you raise your hand or hold a position are known as postural tremors. These can be caused by various factors, including essential tremor, high stress, electrolyte imbalances, or certain metabolic conditions. I’ll advise CT for proper investigation and diagnosis. In Ayurveda, tremors are referred to as Kampa, a condition primarily caused by an imbalance in Vata Dosha. When Vata becomes aggravated (often due to stress, exhaustion, or nervous system sensitivity), it disturbs the “movement” functions of the body, leading to involuntary shivering. The sensation in the head suggests that the Prana Vayu (which governs the head and nervous system) and Vyana Vayu (which governs circulation and movement in the limbs) are out of equilibrium. The left side is often associated with the Ida Nadi, which can be more sensitive to these shifts. Ayurveda Medicines 1. Ksheerabala (101) Capsules: A potent nervine tonic used to strengthen the nervous system and calm Vata. Dose: 1 capsule twice daily before food with warm water. 2. Balarishtam: A fermented liquid preparation that improves muscle strength and nerve conduction. Dose: 15–20 ml twice daily after food, mixed with an equal amount of lukewarm water. 3. Dhanwantharam Thailam: For external application to ground the Vata energy. Usage: Apply gently to the hands and the crown of the head 30 minutes before bathing.

Your symptoms suggest an action tremor (more noticeable when raising or using the hand). Common causes can include: • Essential tremor • Stress/anxiety-related tremor • Vitamin B12 deficiency • Thyroid imbalance • Nerve-related issues Because you also have: • dizziness • head sensations • asymmetry (left more than right) 👉 it is important to get a proper neurological evaluation once. Basic tests like: • Vitamin B12 • Vitamin D • Thyroid profile (TSH) can be helpful. From an Ayurvedic perspective this often resembles Vata aggravation affecting the nervous system. What helps: Regular sleep Avoid excess caffeine/stimulants Reduce stress and overexertion Daily gentle exercise/walking At home: • Warm sesame oil massage on neck/arms • Brahmi tea or warm milk at night • Good hydration Ayurvedic support: Brahmi vati – 1 tablet twice daily Ashwagandha tablet – 1 at bedtime Ksheerbala capsule/oil support if available Do not ignore if you develop: • worsening tremor • weakness • speech changes • imbalance while walking • severe headache Improvement is usually gradual over weeks, not immediate.
