Varicose veins in Ayurveda are commonly related to Siragata Vata with involvement of weak circulation, aggravated Vata, and stagnant Rakta (blood flow). Since your mother has constant pain, itching/burning, and a sedentary lifestyle, treatment should focus on improving circulation, reducing vein pressure, and strengthening blood vessels naturally. Rx 1. Kaishore Guggulu – Helps reduce inflammation, improves blood circulation, and supports vein health. 2. Punarnavadi Guggulu – Useful if there is swelling or heaviness in legs. 3. Arjuna Capsule/Churna – Strengthens blood vessels and improves vascular tone. 4. Manjistha – Excellent blood purifier; helps in burning, discoloration, and stagnant circulation. 5. Gotu Kola (Mandukaparni) – Traditionally used to improve venous circulation and vein elasticity. External Ayurvedic Support Gentle massage with Sahacharadi Taila or Mahanarayana Taila in upward direction (very light pressure). If veins are very swollen and painful, avoid deep massage directly over bulging veins. Elevating legs for 15–20 minutes twice daily gives good relief. Lifestyle & Diet Advice Avoid prolonged standing or sitting continuously. Daily slow walking for 20–30 minutes improves venous return. Keep bowels clear; constipation increases venous pressure. Reduce very salty, fried, and heavy foods. Include warm water, fiber-rich diet, pomegranate, amla, garlic, and leafy vegetables.

●In Ayurveda, this is calle Siragranthi/Siravikriti. This condition is primarily associated with an aggravation of Vata dosha and obstruction of blood flow. Treatment aims to balance Vata and improve blood circulation. ●Ashwagandha Powder with Milk: Drink 1 teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder mixed with lukewarm milk before going to bed at night. It reduces nerve weakness, balances Vata, and provides inner strength. Take regularly for at least 60 days. ●Mandukaparni (Gotu Kola) on an empty stomach in the morning. Take 500 mg of Mandukaparni powder with lukewarm water. It increases nerve elasticity and improves blood flow. Consume regularly for 2-3 months. ●Gotukola capsules - 2 capsules, twice daily with warm water. ●Curcumin capsules - 2 capsules, twice daily with warm water. ●Use of Garlic Empty stomach in the morning Lightly crush 2 cloves of raw garlic and swallow them with lukewarm water. This thins the blood and prevents clots. ●Aloe Vera Gel Paste: Apply fresh aloe vera gel to the swollen veins before going to bed. Wash it off after 15-20 minutes. This reduces swelling and irritation. ●Sesame Oil Massage (Most Important): Apply lukewarm sesame oil every night. Gently massage from the toes to the thighs, from the bottom up, for 5-7 minutes. This helps to circulate stagnant blood upward. ●Lifestyle Improvements • Avoid standing for long periods of time • Walk a little every 30 minutes Elevate your legs while sleeping Pavanmuktasana, Viparita Karani Asana Taking a warm bath • Eating fiber-rich foods
