Hey Maha, sounds like a rough time you’re going through, let’s try and unpack it a bit. So, you’ve been dealing with a lot - both mentally and physically. With the miscarriage, depression and now with these new tummy troubles, it makes sense you’re maybe feeling pretty overwhelmed.
First things first, the medications you’ve been on could have upset your stomach a bit. Antidepressants sometimes mess with our gut. Digestion and the mind? They’re kinda connected in Ayurveda too. The gut is actually referred to as the second brain in some philosophies, which can affect how we absorb nutrients and process everything, literally and figuratively!
About the H. pylori thing: if the blood test is positive but the stool test isn’t, it could mean you’ve been exposed to it before, but might not have an active infection right now. It’s a bit tricky, but not having symptoms like severe indigestion or ulcers is a good sign. If you’re worried about it though, maybe double-check with your doc on needing further follow-ups.
The cramping and loose stools could be related to IBS. Stress or emotional upheaval often exacerbates it. Remember, your agni - digestive fire - needs to be balanced. Maybe include lighter foods in your diet, easy-to-digest ones like soup or khichdi, and avoid too much raw stuff or heavy to digest meals. Try adding a pinch of asafoetida in your meals — it helps with bloating and gas. And make sure you chew your food well, as digestion starts in the mouth; give the enzymes a good chance to do their thing.
Simple routine changes might help too. Can you try slight yoga or pranayama? Not intense – just simple breathing or a short walk each morning? It’s often an underrated way to connect mind and body, calming the mind while helping digestion balance itself out.
But listen, if those cramps don’t ease up or things get worse, definitely check back with your healthcare provider. Balancing modern medicine with ayurvedic principles is sometimes a bit trial-and-error, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you need more help. Keep well! 🍃
