Surajit Ray

Loos motion. Watery stool, hyper gas, indisation, sleeples night, over thinking, weoght los. How can i overcome it. Plz help me what can i do! I am suffering from ibs for last 5 years. Please give me some advice

IBS can indeed be a challenging condition to manage, and the symptoms you’re describing like loose motions, gas, indigestion, and sleeplessness can be particularly frustrating. In Ayurveda, IBS often relates to an imbalance in the Vata dosha, and sometimes Pitta, affecting your Agni or digestive fire.

To address these, start with your diet. Focus on regular meal times; skippinh meals can aggravate symptoms. Incorporate warm, cooked foods that are easy to digest such as khichdi (a simple rice and lentil dish), soups, and steamed vegetables. Avoid raw foods as they are known to worsen Vata imbalance. Try drinking warm water throughout the day, maybe infuse it with ginger to aid digestion, or sip on cumin-coriander-fennel tea after meals.

Spices like ajwain (carom seeds), fennel, and hing (asafoetida) can also help ease your symptoms. You can roast a teaspoon of these and chew them post-meal. But avoid spicy, oily, or very sour foods as they may aggravate Pitta.

Mind-body practices are also beneficial. Yoga, meditation, or even simple deep breathing can help manage stress and overthinking, which may contribute to your IBS symptoms. Even a daily practice of 15 minutes can make difference.

For herbal remedies, Triphala can be valuable. It’s a traditional Ayurvedic formula known to support digestion and regular bowel movements. Take it before bedtime with warm water.

Overall, observe a routine to calm your nervous system; going to sleep and waking at consistent times. Avoid tight schedules or excessive activity, give yourself some ‘me-time’ to relax.

If there’s significant weight loss, it’s a good idea to discuss with a healthcare professional to rule out other conditions. Ayurveda’s approach is holistic, and combining it with regular medical guidance can be particularly effective. Be sure to adjust any recommendations if they conflict with current medical treatments.
