So dull skin on the face but elsewhere it’s all glowy and radiant, I get you. Mixed skin types can be a bit tricky, needing different care for different areas. Often, the face reflects internal imbalances – stuff like digestion, stress, or maybe what you’re eating impacts it more than the creams. Ayurveda suggests we look at your dosha balance. If you’re mixed, you might have combo of oily (Kapha) spots and dry (Vata) areas on your face.
First off, diet. Make sure to include fresh, seasonal fruits and veggies. They work wonders in maintaining that natural glow. Oh, and avoid too much spicy, fried food or sugar, which can disrupt your skin’s balance. Hydration is gold – think warm water and herbal teas like tulsi or ginger.
Now for your daily skincare. A gentle cleansing routine is key, something like a chickpea flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric – it’s less harsh than synthetic cleansers. Use lukewarm water, no need to shock the skin with extreme temps! Moisturizing can be layered with a lightweight herbal oil, like sesame or almond, especially at night to let it absorb while you sleep.
And Ayurvedic face masks, give 'em a shot. Mix a honey, sandalwood powder, and a squeeze of lemon juice or rose water for a rejuvenating mask. It’s kinda like a mini spa treatment that rejuvenates the skin’s natural tone.
And don’t forget the stress part… sounds cliché but yoga, or even 10 minutes of meditation a day, can relax the mind, which, believe it or not, can affect your face’s glow too. If you’re doing everything and nothing changes, it might be good to chat with an Ayurvedic practitioner to take a closer look at what’s going on, sometimes it’s more than the surface.
