Acne that just won’t go away is frustrating…Like, totally get it. You’ve been trying creams and tablets, like it’s a daily routine now, but no luck. It’s like you’re in an endless cycle, right? But let’s look into some Ayurvedic perspective here.
First off, acne is often due pri-marily to an imbalance in the doshas, mostly Pitta and Kapha. When these doshas get outta balance, they mess your skin up. Adding to that is agni, your digestive fire. If it’s weak, toxins (ama) build up and can hang out on your skin as acne.
Targeting the digestive system could be a game changer. Constipation is a sign from your gut saying things aren’t moving right? Do start taking warm water regularly, like 1-2 glasses when you wake up – it helps stimulate peristalsis, potentially. Add some fibrous foods like whole grains, fruits like papaya and pears, and leafy greens to your plate too. They help improve bowel movements.
Try triphala powder at night before bed. Around 1 tsp with warm water. Triphala clears ama, aids digestion, and is gentle. Mind you, don’t overdo it; take it only a few days a week.
As for blackheads and those little bumps – consider a natural scrub with chickpea flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric and a bit of water. Use this once or twice a week. This combo’s been historically used to cleanse skin and reduce excess oil.
Also, reflect on what you’re eating. Fried food, spicy stuff, junk foods – they aggravate Pitta dosha. Cutting down helps balance. Stick to cooling foods like cucumber, coriander, or mint.
Don’t stress much (like, try not to) as it worsens acne by imbalancing Vata dosha. Maybe take up yoga or meditation to calm the mind. Also, wash your face twice daily, not more cause over washing can irritate the skin too.
But again, if nothing seems to budge, consider seeing an Ayurvedic practitioner in person? Personalized diagnosis is always better. Hang in there.
