Mouth ulcers and digestive issues such as excessive flatus can be symptoms of dosha imbalances. From an Ayurvedic perspective, mouth ulcers are often associated with Pitta dosha aggravation, causing inflammation and heat in the body. For addressing this issue, it’s advisable to focus on a Pitta-pacifying diet and lifestyle. He should avoid spicy, fried, and very hot foods which add to Pitta dosha. Instead, encourage him to consume cooling foods like cucumbers, melons, and coriander. Drinking aloe vera juice or coconut water helps soothe and cool the body, potentially reducing the frequency of ulcers.
Digestive issues such as passing excess flatus may related to Vata imbalance or poor digestion due to weak agni (digestive fire). To strengthen his digestive fire, he can start his meals with a small piece of ginger and few drops of lemon juice, which can help in improving digestion and lowering gas. Include warm, cooked foods that are easy to digest, like steamed vegetables, soups, and mildly spiced lentils in his diet. Avoid foods that are raw, cold or gaseous like beans and carbonated drinks.
His symptoms related to the cold with sneezing suggest a Vata and Kapha dosha imbalance. Keeping the immune system strong is crucial. A regular intake of Tulsi (holy basil) tea with ginger or turmeric milk can aid in enhancing immunity and reducing cold symptoms. Also, he should avoid cold foods and drinks, especially in cooler weather conditions, and keep warm by dressing appropriately.
Regularly practice yoga or pranayama, especially breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom, to help balance the doshas and improve overall respiratory health and stress management. However, if symptoms worsen or persist, it would be wise to seek professional medical assistance, as it may be necessary to rule out any underlying conditions. Always remember to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor interventions based on personal health history.
