Doctors' responses

Dear Ma’am, At your age, atrial fibrillation can cause symptoms like persistent weakness, uneasiness, and low energy because the heart rhythm becomes irregular and circulation may not be optimal. It is good that your cardiologist has started Amiodarone and an anticoagulant, as these medicines help control the rhythm and reduce the risk of stroke. Please continue these medicines exactly as prescribed and do not stop them without your doctor’s advice. From an Ayurvedic perspective, such symptoms are often related to Vata imbalance affecting the heart (Hridroga) as described in Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hridaya. Management focuses on strengthening the heart, improving circulation, and reducing Vata aggravation. Supportive measures: Prefer light, warm, and easily digestible meals. Avoid excess caffeine, very oily, spicy, and processed foods. Gentle activities like slow walking and mild pranayama can help improve energy and circulation. Adequate rest and stress control are very important. In Ayurveda, herbs like Terminalia arjuna are traditionally used for supporting heart health, but since you are taking anticoagulant medicine, any herbal medicine should only be started under proper medical guidance. If weakness or palpitations worsen, or if you feel dizziness, chest pain, or breathlessness, please seek medical attention promptly. You may book my consultation if you would like more detailed guidance about Ayurvedic management, diet plan, and the appropriate dosage of medicines according to your condition. Wishing you good health and recovery.
