Hello, Your mothers condition shows two major chronic concerns -Burning sensation in feet like neuropathic -Long term digestive weakness after major stomach surgery At age 84 with surgical history, Ayurveda focuses not on aggressive treatment, but soothing, nourishing, nerve-supporting, and digestive restoring care Ayurvedic view, BURNING FEET In Ayurveda, this is mainly due to -vata + pitta imbalance -weak nerves (tissue depletion) -poor circulation and dryness This causes -burning, tingling, heat sensation -worse at night CHRONIC STOMACH ISSUES After removal of 2/3 stomach + duodenum -digestive fire is severely weakened -food not properly digested-> toxins(ama) -leads to pain, poor absorption, weakness **Treatment goals -cool and nourish nerves -reduce burning -strengthen digestion gently -improve sleep and comfort -avoid strong medicines due to surgery history => Internal medication For burning feet and nerve support 1) Guluchyadi kashaya= 10ml + equal water twice daily before meals for 3 months =reduces burning, detoxifies, supports nerves 2) Ksheerbala 101 capsules= 1 cap twice daily after meals =best for vata disorders, nourishes nerves, reduces tingling, burning, sleeplessness 3) Brahmi capsule= 1 cap at night =calms nervous system, helps sleep For digestion 4) Dhanwantharam gulika= 1 tab once daily after food =supports weak digestion , improves absorption ,safe for elders 5) Jeerakarishtam= 10ml after meals with warm water =improves digestion without irritation, reduces gas and pain External treatment For burning feet 1) Ksheerbala taila= slightly warm oil apply on feet, gently massage for 15 min before bed =best for nerve cooling + nourishment , improves sleep 2) Coconut oil + sandalwood powder = apply on soles at night, immediate cooling effect 3) Foot soak (evening)= lukewarm water + pinch of rock salt, 10 minutes, reduces burning+ improves circulation Lifestyle -sleep= keep feet slightly elevated, apply oil daily before sleep Avoid -very spicy, sour, fried food -long gaps between meals -cold/raw foods hard to digest Follow -small, frequent meals -warm, soft, easy to digest food DIET -rice gruel -moong dal light protein -boiled vegetables bottle gourd, pumpkin etc -cow ghee small amount daily- improves digestion and nerves -buttermilk diluted, with cumin AVOID -chili, pickles -tea,coffee excess -dry foods biscuits, toast -fermented heavy foods Pranayam if she comfortable -Anulom Vilom= 5-10 min -chandrabhedana Simple movements -ankle rotations -gentle leg elevation Home remedies 1) Coriander water= soak 1 tsp seeds overnight, drink water in morning- helps reduce body heat 2) Ghee + warm milk if tolerated at night- improves sleep + nourishes tissues Duration of treatment -intiial relief= 2-4 weeks -stable improvement= 2-3 months -maintenance needed long term mild care Important precautions -avoid strong detox panchakarma due to age and surgery -use low doses only -monitor digestion closely -stop any medicine if discomfort increases Your mothers condition is manageable, not fully curable, especially due to age and surgery history. The aim is -reduce suffering -improve sleep -support digestion -maintain comfort With regular oil application, gentle internal medications many patients get significant relief in burning sensation and better quality of life Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

I understand your concern—at her age and with such a major stomach surgery history, this kind of burning in the feet can be very disturbing, especially when it affects sleep. Let’s approach this gently and safely. she cannot tolerate internal medicines, we will focus on external + very mild support. 1. Cooling Foot Oil Massage Use dhanwantharam tailam or ksheerabala tailam Method: Slightly warm oil (lukewarm, not hot) Massage feet gently for 10–15 mins before sleep Focus on soles and toes Helps: burning, nerve calming, better sleep If burning is very high → mix a little coconut oil with it for extra cooling At 84 and with her surgical history, her body is delicate. External therapies will give relief, but root correction needs very personalized planning. If you want, I can design a very gentle, customized plan (including safest internal options if possible) specifically for her condition and digestion tolerance. You’re taking good care of her—let’s support her comfort and sleep step by step.

It is quite common to see these two symptoms - burning feet (Daha) and chronic stomach aches (Shoola) appearing together in Ayurveda. Typically, this suggests an imbalance of Pitta Dosha (heat element) and Samana Vayu (the energy governing digestion). When the digestive fire (Agni) is impaired, it can lead to the buildup of “Ama” (toxins), which then circulates and causes peripheral sensations like burning. Burning Feet: Often categorized under Paada Daha. It is frequently linked to Rakta-Pitta (blood and heat) imbalances or a deficiency in the “Ojas” (vitality) affecting the nerves. Chronic Stomach Ache: This is usually seen as Ajeerna (indigestion) or Grahani (malabsorption). If the pain is dull and long-term, it suggests a slow metabolism and heat accumulation in the GI tract. For this jsut take Abhayarishtam - 10 ml with qual quantity of water morning evening after food Amrutarishtam - 10 ml with qual quantity of water morning evening after food. Alsactil tablet - 2-0-2 before food

Namaste, Your mother’s symptoms — burning, stinging sensation in feet disturbing sleep along with long-term weak digestion after major stomach surgery — indicate vata-pitta imbalance with nerve sensitivity and reduced digestive strength. At her age and with surgical history, the focus should be on gentle, external soothing therapies and mild internal support (if tolerated). ⸻ External remedies (very helpful in her case) Apply Ksheerabala Taila or Dhanwantharam Taila on feet at night • Gentle massage for 10–15 minutes • Follow with mild warm fomentation (not too hot) This helps calm nerves and reduce burning sensation. You can also apply pure coconut oil during daytime if there is excess heat. If burning is severe at night: • Soak feet in lukewarm water for 5–10 minutes, then apply oil ⸻ For stomach sensitivity Since she has had major surgery, avoid strong medicines. Give only very light digestive support: • Small quantity of jeera (cumin) water during the day • Soft, warm, easily digestible food (soups, moong dal, soft rice if tolerated) • Small, frequent meals Avoid spicy, sour, fried, and heavy foods. ⸻ Mild internal support (only if she tolerates) Guduchi Satva – a small pinch once daily with water This is gentle and traditionally used to support inflammation and digestion. ⸻ Important note At her age and history: • Avoid strong herbal formulations or multiple medicines • Keep treatment simple and gentle • Monitor if burning increases or if there are new symptoms Burning feet in elderly can also be related to nerve changes or circulation, so regular medical check-up is useful. ⸻ With consistent external care, sleep and comfort can improve gradually. Consultation can help tailor this further to your needs.

External Remedies for Burning Feet— - Coconut oil massage: Apply gently to the feet at night; cooling and soothing. - Aloe vera gel: Fresh gel applied to soles reduces burning sensation. - Neem oil (diluted): Mix with coconut oil and apply lightly; helps itching and burning. - Foot soaks: Lukewarm water with a pinch of rock salt or a few neem leaves; avoid very hot or very cold water. - Sandalwood paste: Traditionally used for cooling; apply thin layer to soles. Diet & Lifestyle (supportive for skin + digestion)---- - Small, frequent meals: Easily digestible foods like rice gruel, thin dal, vegetable soups. - Avoid heavy, oily, spicy foods: These aggravate Pitta and worsen burning. - Warm water sips: Aid digestion and reduce Ama buildup. - Evening routine: Gentle foot massage, calming environment, avoid late-night heavy meals. - Yoga/pranayama (if tolerated): Anulom Vilom, Sheetali for cooling effect.

✓External remedies: Ksheerabala Taila or Mahanarayana Taila – Warm slightly and gently massage both feet and legs for 10–15 minutes every night before bed. Cooling foot pack – Mix 1 tsp Sandalwood powder + rose water into a thin paste. Apply on soles and top of feet for 10–15 min, then wash with cool water. Do this 2 times/day (afternoon & night). Warm salt water soak – Add 2 tbsp rock salt in lukewarm water. Soak feet for 10–15 min at night (before oil massage). Helps reduce heat and stinging. ✓Supportive tips Keep feet elevated while sleeping (use pillow under legs). Wear loose cotton socks at night. Avoid direct cold exposure or fan on feet. ✓For stomach: Continue light, warm, easily digestible food (moong dal soup, khichdi with ghee). No heavy/oily/spicy meals. ✓Rule out diabetic neuropathy, vitamin B12 deficiency or peripheral vascular issue with simple blood tests. Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
